The funny thing to me is that since Slifer sends itself to the GY at the end phase, this card can theoretically be used multiple times throughout a duel (as long as Slifer continually hits the grave), which may lead to major card advantage and a constantly recurring floodgate.
How this card isn't a once per duel, or why it cannot be negated, is really baffling, I guess they just *_really_* wanted Slifer to be playable.

To be fair to Konami, there are two things which make it slightly worse than it looks at first glance.
First, while the card can't be negated, it can be stopped by things like D.D. Crow. So it doesn't have no counters, but its counters are fairly specific.
Second, it might not be that great after the first turn, because it gives your opponent cards as well. Granted, choosing when the effect goes off is a powerful thing, so it may still be good.
Those things said, I cannot see a future in which this card is not broken at some point, by some deck, in some meta.

Im actually thinking a rouge option. people are panicking about its floodgate effect when there is an ancient technique that can beat it. Be warned it will take you 1000+ hours of grueling traing, being in 100 mystic mine mirrors and listening to an hour of Farfas takes. @@anteante2332 Which modern decks can play without their ns or low link monsters? Tears kinda need Rino and they would be the deck using it anyway. Splight needs that first body on the field so it is starter or bust and they are hindered too and no deepsea diva tricks and no battle phase.
It is also not just slifer by itself, it is a normal despia board + slifer + more potential hand traps as you draw with the combo. It might not be meta but it is much more annoying than you give it credit.

To be fair slifer's floodgate isn't that perfect since it hits only special summoned monsters in attack position, so anything that isn't a link can be summoned in defence and get rid of it easily since it has no inherent protections (as example normal summon zoodiac thoroughblade, ss drident in defence and pop slifer), still it can get unexpected opponents off guard and hard counter them if they're not prepared.
Still i wish it can create a decently working deck to see it in action, i do believe it's a very funny card

Weird that this is a Slifer support card since the moment they’re referencing follows Silent magician getting the upper hand after defeating DM and DMG and only lasts before a bit before Slifer gets sent back to the grave. Hell, the effect references the manner in which silent magician was able to overpower Atem’s monsters not Slifer’s.

Summoned silent magician, then have both players draw until they hold 6 cards which boosted silent magicians attack. The monster reborn part is also a loose reference to how Yugi purposefully threw away his monster reborn to stop Slifer’s summon when Atem tried to summon it with so. So yes while the card artwork alludes to that moment, the effect plays more in line with Yugi’s combo the prior turn.

You can get away with playing four garnets in tearelement and you get a draw 6, which means at the absolute worst you draw four extenders and or handtraps, plus you get an unaffected 6k floodgate monster as well

It reads like a custom card and it being a trap is actually a slight advantage because you can use it during your opponent's draw phase so that they draw one less card, or none if it's turn 2, while you draw a bunch, including potentially some handtraps or other reactive stuff. Outside Turn 1 it's very much a Win More card but I could definitely see it as a spicy tech choice at the very least.

I think it will end up like adventure/destiny fusion/red-eyes fusion, that is will be another small engine to add in, since all you need is 4 cards (the 4 traps and slifer). ((Maybe 5 if you want the mosnter reborn effect)). I don't think that you could make a deck based around this card, but it can be found in decks.

The Slifer Second Mouth attack is a pretty good lockdown. King Tigar Wangu and Crush Card Virus can occasionally catch a deck off guard, because most engine Monsters have very low ATK.

Just wait until it just mills eventually. Tear can mill 3 with sheiren, 5 with kitkalos, 3 with scream, 5 ( total) with tear kash, then more with the lightsworn xyz. This is an eventually.

Ok so, bin slifer during your combo, there are decks that can afford to do so in their normal game plan, set the trap, then activate it on your opponent's draw phase(they drew their 6th card), for a draw 6, which also puts a 6000 ATK slifer on board.
We already know that Slifer has a terrifying lockdown effect for certain decks if he's allowed to get on the field.
Iirc, slifer will still return to the graveyard during he end phase because of its own effect, but you are blanking...MOST decks.
I mean assuming that they didnt draw droplet or dark ruler, what can Splight...do? Against Slifer? All monsters they summon are below 2000 ATK, meaning Slifer pops anything they try to do, rendering them with no materials on the field for their plays.
Danger!Tear has a native out in the form of Bigfoot, but thats anything but consistent.
I feel like we will see a splash of this card on the decks that can bin the slifer easily. Its only issue is that its unsearchable.
