Almost every day after her midday nap my cat does this yearning/searching kind of meow and purposefully hunts me down for pets, like she just woke up from a nightmare. She gets her 7.4 seconds of cuddles, and then goes right back to sleep.

My mom and I rescued two senior lab dogs. And they taught me and my mom so so much. They were both treated horribly. And we loved them both with every part of our being. And they loved us.... I would cry with happiness too.

I must be an animal. Mom gave me some money when I was lil. Said, go buy some ice cream cone. And I did. I remembered that day and randomly got some work money and gave some money outta the blue to gift her back. She gave her own money away to my brother not knowing where to her next life saving money. That's when I surprised her randomly in memory of that ice cream she gave me money for when I was lil. She paid me back in tears of appreciation cause I told her she didn't have to pay me back.

Chickens are absolutely amazing, I have wonderful memories from our backyard chickens following my mama all over the place. They were even sleep on the couch with her. ❤ they’re absolutely loving feeling animals. ❤

Sorry this is so long I just wanted to share something that reminded me of my dog. 🥺I rescued a really sweet dog 5 year old Jack Russell, Cairn Terrier,
schnauzer( in my profile photo) who was neglected and dumped by my neighbors. Poor boy was so scared of everything and everyone. He slowly came around with lots of love and patience. it was 3 months before I was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of thyroid cancer I was really struggling mentally and physically in 2013. Paco taco was with me thro everything and helped me with getting my life back together I was broken, He was my everything, he taught me how to love. Paco was diagnosed with stage 4 congestive heart failure, fluid on his lungs, cushings disease and seizures while I had him but he always had so much love and joy in his sweet heart every day he was so happy when he woke up in the morning. Even when he had a bad night and I cld tell he didn't feel well he helped me make it everyday and not quit.
Sadly my Paco came to me in 2019 and told me it was his time ,he couldn't do it anymore. That was the hardest day of my life. I refused to let him suffer and our vet also agreed it was time to release him of his pain. I truly believe dogs come into your life at ur very worst moments and leave when their job is finished and know you will be okay. ( I didn't think I could make it without him it hasn't been easy, I cry everyday I miss him so much😢) I have Paco ashes with me everywhere I go hes my very best friend ❤.
Chickens are intelligent, lovable animals who can become very attached to their caregivers. I, myself, am a Chicken Tender.

I can confirm, this is a very happy lil hen, they won’t lay an egg if sick or stressed and this shows just how powerful acts of love can be and how it transformed this lovely little hen into a happy feathered baby.
Edit: And a thank you to this wonderful young lady for seeing the value of improving the quality of life for all living things, no matter what shape they come in. And she clearly wasn’t expecting Black Beauty to be a laying hen that would thank her with her eggs as a reward for all her hard efforts and love and care she put into healing her. Hens aren’t products to be used and thrown away, they have a capacity to love and a need for love like any sentient creature. Otherwise, how could you explain why Black Beauty loves to ride on her arm and trusts her to carry her? When that isn’t a need or part of survival instincts, then what is it? An accident? From one hen caretaker to another, you are my idol.

I housesit for a family with seven chickens. One little lady has gone broody and I was able to settle her to sleep by gently, slowly petting and massaging her with two fingers. The flock lets me come a littttle closer each time and they’ve learned I bring them snacks like grass and dandelions! It’s the most magical thing when a bird understands you are safe and caring. I cry at chicken things because they’re so underrated and brushed off as just meat.
She is absolutely gorgeous, and yes, with a lotta love, attention, positive environments, etc. they will start laying eggs
