Think we still have a drive-in over in Lakeland, Fl. At least that's what I hear. They closed the one in Winter Haven 25 years ago, and boy, do I miss it! Something my late wife and I enjoyed very much. She's been gone 15 years but as long as I watch these videos, I recall all the great memories we made together.
I remember back in the 70's we had a couple really great Drive-in Theaters. The 41-Twin Drive-in Theater was close to our house, and the 24-Outdoor was not as close but still nearby. Those nights were events for me. The prep work. That Styrofoam cooler, the snacks, the blankets, and pillows. I'd bring some toys. We'd pack into the wagon or the car, and off we went. So many great memories. It was a always a special occasion, a treat for me when we went to the Drive-in. Now sadly they are all torn down, abandoned, rebuilt with insurance companies, massive buildings that now fill the place where so many memories and fun times happened. That's progress?
The Tootsie Roll Pops ad is relatively rare. You don't see it much in all the comps on CZcams. It's somewhat amusing -- got good voice actors. But when, at the end, they show several pops being chomped down on, the sound effect is rather startling.
i didn't knew the ending is different. i remember at the end after the owl bid the Tootsie pop he would give the stick to him and the camera would focus on the sadden kid.
At intermission I'm going to the refreshment stand and get some Popcorn, 2 Hot Dogs, Pizza, a Coke, an Ice Cream and 2 Candy Bars!!!! There were the Speakers, but I remember You could tune in on the AM Radio, usually up at the end of the dial around 1600, and listen. But the Speakers were better for sound!
I just finished my back yard drive-in with actual drive-in speakers, 120” theater screen and projector, surround sound, patio, deck, fire pit, bar & grill. This will work great for my Labor Day double feature. Sweet! Thanks.
@@DonDonP1 At the rural Drive-ins, especially in Midwestern states, there is often a short with the Star Spangled Banner complete with on-screen lyrics.
Anyone know that song at the very end with the trumpet? The Roots just played it on Jimmy Fallon Season 9 Episode 59 a few nights ago and it brought me back to the drive-in.
+Payton “The Pro Medic” Allen The old ratings stuff lol Thanks for dropping by to check out my videos and sorry about that skipping stuff on this intermission video but don't worry there's lot more to come.
4:10, the penguins' car looks like ''Wheelie'' or ''Speed Buggy'' only Boomers will get that immediately, the rest of you will look it up unless you're an animation historian. good on you.
Thank you folks for watching my video I can't believe this intermission video I had uploaded would end up with tons of views. Unfortunately I can't upload any videos on this channel right now so here is my secondary CZcams channel if you want to subscribe here Thanks everyone

i just realized theres a beuty and the beast refrence
I never knew there was an extended version of the Toostie Roll Pop commercial.
That's the original version. This commercial has been around since at least 1970.
There's a funny parody of this commercial.
All this time, I thought it was just the turtle and the owl. I have not lived a full life.
The original at last that reveals the real story
@Riotpir1972, I know, right?

How many here remember the speaker you hung on the car window? (hand up!)
me
🤚
I remember the speakers that you had to attach to the car
I hat though, they used radio frequency inspite multiple devices.
My gosh I miss these days.
I empathize, Darlene. I would love to go back to about 1961 for a day.
An extended version of the classic Tootsie Roll commercial. And with Paul Frees, no less.
The Tootsie Pop ad in its entirety? Is that what it was like long before just shortening it to the kid asking Mr. Owl?
The Tootsie Roll Pops ad is relatively rare. You don't see it much in all the comps on CZcams. It's somewhat amusing -- got good voice actors. But when, at the end, they show several pops being chomped down on, the sound effect is rather startling.
Nathan Simar Like Paul Winchell as Mr. Owl
Gotta love it though. CHOMP!!!!!
Tootsie pop 7:35
The world may still never know
I've never seen the Tootsie Roll Pop commerical with the Fox and the cow. I've only seen the one with just the turtle and owl
Beavis 2310. Only the drive IN move has those wonderful advertising.
Thanks for enjoying my video appreciate

Best David Ever IF THERE IS I CAN’T STAND ITS A SMART OWL!
I used to drink Tab a lot in the 1970s .It was my favorite diet soda
Airline Drive Inn in Portsmouth, Va . used the let's all go to the lobby clock frame.
5:05 I can still sing that song over and over again
Don't drive off until you take the speaker out of the window
I love these old very short films.
Memories of my wonderful youth... The 60's....
SUCH GREAT MEMORIES!!!

This is a single part of my childhood-
the tootsie roll commercial is 100 better than lets all go to the lobby.
Always loved the hamburgers wrapped in foil on a steamer. I don't know what made them so good.
12:52: OUR FEATURE PRESENTATION
That’s why they should’ve said “Showtime!” after the fade out since it got cut out in the last second.
4:58 - Hey! Where's Homer Simpson? 🌭 🤣
Hahaha i don't know? Maybe sitting in the toilet
He went to "ze lobby" after seeing a violent WW2-themed cola ad on the screen.
They played the national anthem at drive ins? That I never heard of.
mcog 2006 why you do not want to national anthems And drive in why did we have national anthem with drive-in
Little big planet fan 2008 LOL HOW MANY LICKS DOES IT TAKE TO THE CENTER OF A TOOTSIE POP? CRUNCH! THE WORLD NEVER KNOW!!!!!
+Zara Condemi Thank you and everyone for stopping by to check out my videos
that's what I was thinking.
"Ladies and gentlemen, would you please stand for our national anthem."
Kind of difficult to do when you're in the car.
I just spent 12 minutes to find out there is no feature presentation?
In glen dale in marshall county had a drive in theatre and they still had a screen
Hey if anyone lives in glen dale who used to own the drive in theatre
The Snack Canyon bumper, for me, is a representation of the last days of truly entertaining intermission ads. And it is kinda cringey, at that.
5:05
My favorite
A classic
Oh say does that Star Spangled Banner yet wave! For the land of the Free and the home of the Brave! AMERICA...My Hoooooooooome!! (Play Ball!)
Alex George Maybe they should bring it back to be played before the feature starts.
@@luisreyes1963 I agree!
It's "Ooer," meaning "over."
@@DonDonP1 At the rural Drive-ins, especially in Midwestern states, there is often a short with the Star Spangled Banner complete with on-screen lyrics.
Very well done mix.

I thought on the theater national anthem is supposed to be on during the tv shutdown due to the end of the world
How did the alien pay for all the treats from the snack bar?
If I was that snack bar clerk, I would pay the alien's bill for him, after having the chance to meet a space alien.
He used Bitcoin maybe?
9:47 you mean this alien
5:11
Wait, does Injustice 2 reference this?
10:39 Show Starts in T.....

Payton Allen Used to be the MPAA ratings back in the 60's. Now it should be GPGPG13R.

Who stood for the anthem
What year is this from?
There are ads/bumpers from different decades here, but I think most of these are from the Seventies.
11:12 I think X means more than just 18 & up.
Only 2 major motion pictures earned an X rating before being reclassified: Midnight Cowboy (1969) & Last Tango In Paris (1972).
Before the days of nc17. If you ask me there should be a new rating to succeed the x and nc17 ratings: AO21
What year was this
Excellent. After this I recommend Zero by Smashing Pumpkins.
Why is he eating a hot dog @ 9:42 with his pinkey stickin out???....Wth??
It's good manners. 🌭
12:52 song?
Funky Fanfare, Keith Mansfield
