we have ours on just 1000 in the colder months and find its very warm on that, but then its just a 2 berth van. Now and again we run it on gas for a few minutes to keep the system working OK. Cheers!

Great video and really well explained. Didn’t realise shouldn’t use 2kw with no fan, not that I think I’d ever do that, nor did I realise it needs a cool down period. Mine wasn’t working on 2kw so I had to change the over temp sensor and it’s been great since.

Wow, after 12 years I've only just learnt that it's an electric heater too lol. Thank you :) I've been taking an electric heater all this time :(

Hello, I've got my first ever motorhome couple months ago. Yesterday I decided to test the heater on gas, all worked as you mentioned here. But one thing worry me, the strong burnt gas smell it was producing. I have 2 alarms but none of them was triggered with that smell. Is it normal??

Just purchased our first caravan. It's a 2005 Sterling Europa 460 and I've been testing all the appliances to see that they work on gas and electric . I can' get the electric heater to work and the green light doesn't come on when I switch on the truma ultraheat (any setting) and the space heater switch is on. Do I need to reset the electric heater or could the switch be faulty? Your video's are very helpful for new comers to caravanning. Thank you.

Thanks for the video, mines the exact heater but in 2007 Elddis and its not throwing enough heat out on gas even on dial setting 10. We caravan off grid in the main 3 months of summer so need the gas heater for those chilly nights. Infact turning it up to setting 10 reduces the heat it throws out, its a strange one, what could it be please, any suggestions. Everything else works fine on gas but the gas fire/heater doesn't ?
