  • The Royal Automobile Club, custodian of the illustrious RM Sotheby’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, held a new Summer Run which took place for the very first time on Thursday 21 July.
Introduced as a warm-up to this year’s staging of the world’s longest running motoring event which, as tradition dictates, takes place on the first Sunday in November the 6th, the Summer Run has been established to offer owners of these cherished pre-1905 pioneering vehicles a more relaxed opportunity to enjoy their veteran machines in somewhat more welcoming warm weather.
The single-day Summer Run started and finish at the RAC Club stately Woodcote Park clubhouse situated in Epsom, Surrey.
The 38-mile route took participants south on the A24 towards Leatherhead and into the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty skirting Box Hill, the highest point in the North Downs.
