Start of the 82nd Pioneer Run

Start of the 82nd Pioneer Run from Epsom Downs. The Pioneer Run features 300+ pre 1915 motorcycles , sidecars, tricycles and quadricycles some of if not the oldest machines in the World. The riders and their machines leave Epsom and this year head to new finishing point at Brighton City Airport. The oldest machine this year was made in 1897.
The event has been organised by the Sunbeam Motor Cycle Club since 1930 To ensure that all machines taking part in the Pioneer Run® are genuine veterans, a register of all such machines was started in 1938, and only those machines on the register became eligible to enter the event.
