  • Marshall Mullen's custom Specialized Kenevo
    With some improvements over the previous model year, this custom 2020 Kenevo is equipped with a 29" wheel in the front, and a 27.5" in the rear. Fox Factory suspension, and SRAM AXS electronic shifting, Specialized 700W battery, and carbon wheels, this bike can descend like a full DH bike, but also climb a wall.

    So this is what my build out looks like thanks to your inspiration (bike ordered and parts on the way)! : swapping out boxxer 180mm 27.5" lowers for Boxxer 180mm 29" lowers to achieve the mullet, changing to a Sram GX Eagle 10-52t drive train, going with Magura MT7 Pro brakes, upsizing rotors to Magura MDR-P 220mm, Oneup 180mm dropper post, Oneup aluminum flat peddles. Thanks again for the inspiration!

    Always great to see you ride! Awesome shots and very inspiring. I just sold my 19 Levo Expert and bought a 20 Kenevo this Fall and love the bike for the confidence it gives me. I always loved rough terrain but didn't feel too comfortable there on the levo. Now just had my dealer ordering me a fox 49 + 29" front wheel.. Cant wait for winter to go by. Ice sucks.. Cheers from central switzerland - where the kenevo was engineered 😉👍🏻

  • @JoInvermere

    Hey Marshal.
    Nice build. I got the same this year and it came with a FOX38. Axle to crown on that 38 is very long compare to a Boxxer 27.5 and bring it close to 63⁰ out of the box. I replace the lowers for a 29 lowers and drop the travel to 170mm. Rides good but still around 62.5⁰ head.
    On paper the fox 40 dropped at 190mm would actualy have a lower axle to crown distance and drop the front/steepen the head. How's yours feel? Any axle to crown number?
    Cheers.

    Marshall I know you get a heap of questions regarding the specialized e mtb bikes and e bikes in general.. If you have the time I would so appreciate your assistance in getting the right info from yourself regarding the specialized Kenevo 2020 model.
    I'm a tall guy, 6'5 (195cm) & wiegh in generally between the 105 to 110 kg. My ideal bike is the kenevo and suits my riding style yet am not sure if the Kenevo will hold my weight plus pack etc.. Marshall would you kmow the rider WIEGHT limit of the larger (S6?) size of the 2020 kenevo and if so I'm looking forward to riding it and setting it up similar to the set up you've got running on your 2020 kenevo. Thanks. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Marshall, Wow your custom build has inspired me so much that I just ordered a Kenevo! Can you please answer a few question on your build: 1) how much did you move the triple clamp down on the fork tubes to maintain the geometry; 2) did you lose some of of the travel due to the shift down with the triple clamps; 3) Did you up size the brake rotors, in a number of reviews the rotor size is called out for bing to small/not powerful enough, what are your thoughts. I see that rockshox offers a 180mm boxer in a 29" wheel format in both select and ultimate. If I can get one retail I'll go this route. Thank you for any help you can offer and thank you for the great inspirational videos!!

    • @MarshallMullen1
      @MarshallMullen1  Před 3 lety

      Hi Dave. Thanks for the nice message. I am so glad my build helped you make a decision. You will love the bike.
      1) I moved them as far as I possibly could without the tire hitting the frame. It does at a certain point
      2) No, the only loss in travel is internal in the fork, where I cut it to 180mm
      3) I did not, however I would like to do that. I think it would help!

    • @cabbynate
      @cabbynate Před 4 lety

      While I not the maker of this video I think Ivan shed some light on the build cost. For a non sponsored guy if you have to buy the bike and then build it up from there I'm seeing around $13,0000. That's before tax. You could buy the comp version for about $5500 since your going to change out the suspension and drive train and save about $3000. You would get a 504 watt hour battery instead of the 700 watt hour battery though. It would come out a little lighter to do to the smaller battery. As long as you keep your rides within 35-40 miles you would be fine.
