    I just did this! There’s a way to not get it on your skin! You don’t have to put your nail right in the middle of the polish puddle. I did it at an extreme angle and the very edge of the polish puddle, so no gel on my skin or underneath the nail 🎉
    I might make a short showing how because describing it through text sounds confusing haha

    Just a thought but you could put liquid latex around your nail so all you have to do is pull it off. But they look beautiful

    • @MarlaKris
      @MarlaKris  Před 3 lety +70

      Yep - you could. It would help. But it’s literally up under my nail and super hard to get liquid latex under there and even harder to get the latex out from under there.

    I love using this method. I wear longer nails than you show in this video so getting anything on my skin is a non-issue. I think the angle the nail is placed into the polish makes a huge difference. I absolutely LOVE this technique.

    I love using good ol acrylic paint for most of my nail art too! Unlike gel, it’s water based and won’t harm your skin. I can create ombré effects so much easier with acrylic than when I try working with gel. I just love acrylic paint. I’m so glad you used it for this TikTok trend! 😁👍🤩

This is brilliant!💕 I have seen that your nail can puncture the stamper though, so you might want to have a stamper dedicated to French nails.

    Oml you are the only one i know who talked about gel allergy. Weird thing, i had developed it last year. Just last week i decided to do a skin patch to see if i still have it and nothing happened. After i used it on my nails as well and I’m surprisingly okay (touch wood). But absolutely love the idea of acrylic paint

  • @QueenKrisVR
    @QueenKrisVR Před 3 lety +4

    Another issue to consider is that acrylic paint is not meant to touch skin and can cause chemical burns etc. especially if left on long enough to sit and dry. So, like anything, if you are prone to skin reactions acrylic paint isn't the way to go either. Just use liquid latex around the edges or if you're allergic use a thin layer of white school glue then peel off when dry.

    2. Is this little acrylic paint available at a store like Michael’s?

    You can use blue tack, or a peice of tissue smt little and push it under your nail so know polish gets under of behind ur nail. You can wipe off the nailpolish on the side with nailpolish remover, and if ur patient u can just wait for it to dry on ur skin and peel it off. This is an alternative if u don’t have liquid latex!

    For shorter nails, maybe scrape your nail into the polish, to clear a path as you push in to have less mess under, or at least to try to avoid getting it under your free edge? I love the look and idea, but it would people with brittle nails, or really long nails can't really do that unless they had a much softer silicone item, or stamp.

      I’m not a nail tech nor am I a chemist.. but personally, I’d feel safer using acrylic paint on others as opposed to gel Polish which is known to cause significant allergies.
      I waited about 10 minutes but it dries down in about 5 depending on the thickness. Make sure to cap the edges for a longer lasting mani

    I wonder if you start from the bottom where the nail polish starts so it doesn’t get under the nail. You’ll still get it on the sides.

    This looks so easy. If you use dip liquids, at what point do you activate before applying the top coat?

    Love it!! Do you have a recommendation for a good french pink gel color to use?

    • @MarlaKris
      @MarlaKris  Před 3 lety +1

      For dip powders, I love the revel “scarlet” or iGel beauty “‘medium pink” but any sheer light pink will work!

    Is it not bad for the stamper to press your nails into it like that?

    • @MarlaKris
      @MarlaKris  Před 3 lety +1

      I didn’t find it harmed the stamper.. but I supposed it would depend on your nail shape and how much pressure you apply

  • @rikkihurt

    I'm sure someone else said this but you're not supposed to dip it in the middle. You put it on the edge and drag it so that you don't get it on your skin.

    Ok ik this may sound too good to be true but if ur careful enough u can even do this using ur finger.. like just use the tip of ur finger like u would the silicone stamp and it’ll get the job done..
