  • Dash cam footage day one of our overnight trip to Wilbinga, had good example of a quick trax recovery as well. Showing the way into the Wilbinga Dunes 1, then onto the beach to the right. Top section is firm, but best to drop tires at start for corrugations on gravel road, then maybe 15 for some of the soft areas of the beach which can change and some of the hills can be tricky as you will see in part 2. We stop and fish off a reef during low tide, few fish on offer, beautiful scenery and good company. Part 2 will show our drone footage following along the beach and few tracks through the winding tracks behind the dunes. So much to explore and so easy to get lost so good to go with others if possible and have recovery gear and UHF CB if you get stuck. Worth visiting and will be posting part 2 and some of the more challenging areas we went tomorrow. Thanks to all that came along and hope this footage is helpful.

What psi do you use on the first track with all the ruts?

I was down at 20PSI for most of the trip or close too. Usually sit between 18-20 unless its really soft.

A good tip is to disable traction control if you have it. Traction control will try to apply the brakes to any wheel that starts to spin. That isnt a good thing.
15 PSI is great in the soft sand.

I always disable my traction control, but not all vehicle have the option. But yeah it is always a good idea. I adjust my PSI depending upon conditions, but that's just cause I've done enough to know what's better for my vehicle in different places. But unknown locations I'll always go lower than normal. Thanks for comment.
