Confused? I am take this dont take that..eat this dont that..hell with it.
Carol, me, too, so I narrowed everything down and ordered Strontium. I started it several weeks ago.❤️
What about heart and soil supplements they are more natural? Anyone use them?
I understand how overwhelming it can feel to navigate through all the health recommendations out there. Remember, small, manageable changes can add up to big results over time.
Very confusing. Every video is take something different....don't take that, take this. Take this much...don't take that much. Do this...don't do that.
@@lindafreeman1687 I totally agree ! I chose to take two things. Of course, my Vitamin D3+K2 plus Strontium Citrate. Just can’t deal with flopping around from one thing to another. Got too many other health problems to deal with.
Thank you as always. My head is spinning a bit. My family each has different health issues getting a wide range of information, But this is MY issue & I’ve been helped so much by you.
Thank you for watching! I am glad to hear this video was helpful!
This is the direction that I've been going after I read the book User's Guide to Calcium and Magnesium. I noted her concern about the interferences to magnesium which were too much D3, calcium, sugar and various forms of sugar, caffeine, and floride. I cut back in these areas and I use a rebounder plus OsteoStrong. I'm thankful for your research and people in the know who help us grandmas keep going!
Thank you for watching. I am glad this video was helpful!
Thank you for all the detailed analysis. I appreciate this information.
Very glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Interesting. My first conclusion would be to also get enough vitamin A if on high D supplements. Preferably from actual (animal based) food, not from a supplement. Magnesium as well, but that was already widely known.
Thank you for sharing!
Oh, and I almost forgot, I take potassium twice daily to make sure there is enough to keep things running smoothly with the contractions in the smooth muscles in our systems.
Why are you recommending a product with magnesium source Magnesium Oxide, which is the cheapest, least bio-available magnesium. It seems based on the cost of this product, I’d like to see a better magnesium source like glycinate. Can you respond? What am I missing here?
Agree. Magnedium citrate is horrible!
@@mimirose71 actually in my research, Oxide is worse than Citrate, cheaper and less bio-available.
He recommends relying on magnesium glycinate in addition to this supplement
@@cailin5 Thanks, but my point is Magnesium Oxide is cheap and it has a strong laxative effect. AlgaeCal is a highly advertised product with high overhead. It should not be using such a cheap magnesium source when magnesium is such an important element in the bone-building formula. It should not be necessary to use additional glycinate. The original product should have higher quality magnesium. I'm wondering why Dr. Doug is endorsing a product with such cheap inferior source magnesium.
Probably because they calcium is well researched in it. But you're right, they should use a better magnesium.
Your great love your presentation ! 👍
Thank you for your support!
Dr. Barrie Tan, the foremost researcher on the tocotrienol form of Vitamin E, says tocopherols interfere with tocotrienols. So tocotrienols should not be taken with tocopherols. So not mixed in the same supplement.
Thank you for sharing!
Always thumbs up from NYC
I appreciate that!
Instead of less vitamin D, maybe we need more of the nutrients that support it (i.e. magnesium, vitamin A, etc.). Optimal levels of vitamin D are essential for immune health (learn from the last pandemic). RDAs for vitamin D are haven’t changed much in 100 years when all they knew was that a certain amount kept kids from getting rickets. Vitamin D is essential for so many other functions including balanced immune function.
Thank you for sharing!
Great that you mention all 8 forms of vitamin E. Although the science seems to be somewhat inconclusive on how much we need from each one. The main researchers also seem to have vested interests/patents on supplements. However, if you are a scientist and think you found a "cure" of some sort, you would also try to make it commercially available in a proper form.
Thank you for sharing!
Too many supplements and not enough food!

I was on Algae Cal but with my dysphagia I was opening them, but still too gritty for me to get down. I was doing Naturelo and like it, but just switched to Life Extension Bone Strength Collagen Formula with KoAct. I would love to do Algae Cal but couldn't seem to make it work. Also, have heard mixed things on strontium and not sure what to believe. But I try to get in using my Celtic salt.

CALCIUM. I was diagnosed O..P. and given Cacium and Vit D. Further down the line after a blood test, they found my Calcium level was slightly high (can be dangerous to be high in this) so stopped it and was just given Vit. D. Everyone needs a check before they take supplements.
High calcium can mean too much parathyroid hormone. Have you had your parathyroid levels checked?
Thank you for sharing!
What about vit k2 ?
Very interesting. I am high on vitamin D3. 92.7. But,Ive stopped it now for a short time.Where can we buy the Calcium from you have on your screen.❤
Hi! You can purchase directly through this link --> algaecal.info/drdoug
Very interesting insights! Now I think I understand why I have not been able to take vitamin D the last 5 years without it causing an A-fib episode. Since it lowers magnesium and magnesium affects heart rhythm, it must be playing a role. My question is are you able to help me figure out why I can't tolerate any supplements for my bones. Calcium does the same thing to my heart and I am not able to take oral magnesium in any form four topical without it causing GI problems. That's just one of my many issues with supplements😢

Thank you for addressing this as I had asked about this with your changes in calcium recommendation video. My concern is I also have severe nerve damage and am on a supplement recommended by my neurologist which has 5000 IU of cholecalciferol in it. (This is from EBM Medical, EB-N5) It has no K2 so I take a separate supplement. This product from EBM Medical is helping me. So I'm very concerned about adding the D supplement from AlgaeCal.
Perhaps I need to address nerve health before bone health despite the diagnosis of severe osteoporosis. I'm still confused about how much D I can take. Any thoughts?
I do appreciate your videos, but it's getting so distracting to watch as there are so many ads!! Please reset these so they don't interrupt the video information.

Very technical and complicated-I’m 85 and took
Algae Cal Plus for several years until age 82. I fractured
three vertebrae when I was 79.
I did not need surgery. I now
take Vit. K2( MK-7 200 mcg,
Super Omega -3 (Carlson) wild caught fish oil, Vit. D3, 5000 IU. The Algae Cal did not prevent my bones from fracturing. What do u recommend? I also take Turneric and Time Release Vit. C, 1000 mg. and magnesium
glycine 500 mg 3capsules per day. I take exercise classes 3x
a week and do some exercises at home. I appreciate your knowledge but cannot understand the complexities.
Also, my budget is limited now.
I ferl your pain...sounds like you are doing awesomely well to me!

What is your understanding about strontium and how it affects the DEXA scan? In my research, I have read that strontium will actually take the place of calcium in the bones and will cause the DEXA scores to be erroneously high. I have avoided AlgeaCal because of the strontium.
You can take AlgaeCal plus and leave off the strontium if you prefer not to take it

My mother had osteoporosis and was on 50,000iu of D3 once per week (by prescription), she was put on it by an endocrinologist, I believe. I don't know what her labs showed unfortunately. I think she was on the 50K iu weekly, for over a year.

My understanding from bone health and other D experts is that dry Vit D is not bioavailable. Basically a waste to take. And that D needs to be in a carrier oil like MCT or extra virgin olive oil. That's how I take it plus all the cofactors including boron and magnesium etc.
I know for a fact dry Vit D has upped my VIT D levels from following up with blood tests, 6 months apart in the winter months. Not a waste for me, this even from Costco brand though I have switched it up to SISU brand now.
@@picky682 Probably is bio-individual. I switched to a gelcap and it finally got my D levels up around 80.
