Following his victory, Princess Kate presented the trophy to Alcaraz for the second year in a row. In a touching moment of respect, Alcaraz paused and bowed his head as he approached the royal.
The Princess of Wales also exchanged kind words with runner-up Djokovic, who faced defeat in the final at the hands of Alcaraz for the second consecutive year.
Since becoming the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club in 2016, Princess Kate has traditionally presented the trophies to the winners of the men’s and women’s singles tournaments.
