It's funny, I'm much older than Roger, 54 years old, yet I feel like I "grew up" watching him and Rafa and Nole. ;)
and murray

And Muzza
You're not incorrect! Im 55 and, though we may not hv been young children when he burst onto the scene in '03, we still "grew along with" Roger in his development and during his whole career. So, in that sense, a part of us also went through the beginning and ending of the journey as well. Both Roger and Tom Brady's career virtually ran along parallel tracks so that, when both retired less than a year apart from each other, I felt a part of myself dying as well. So often it is said that, you don't know life is happening to you until it's gone. What a ride it was!
@@edkiely2712 As a Swiss I was a Roger fan all my life, and when he semi-retired in 2021 I thought I was never going to watch tennis again. Then I heard about this new wonderkid the Spaniards have, watched him play Nadal in IW 2022, never missed a match of his ever since. Alcaraz really brought me back to watch tennis again, for me Alcaraz is the successor of Federer.
Miss you Roger 😢
Total class.
I strive for the class and humility Roger exudes
So true he's a great example...

I play the tennis so beautiful
agree
Most of all I miss the beauty of Roger's game. His shot-making seemed so natural and, yes, effortless-where with others it feels like they're producing practiced shots.
That effortless look has countless hours of preparation and hard, smart work behind it.
This guy is class personified!
I see Roger, I click instantly 😅
Me, too! 😊👍🤩
Same here
so much respect between Federer, Djokovic, Nadal and Murray, such a shame some fans are so insistent on toxicity.
Nadal doesn't have so much respect for Djokovic ever since Djokovic passed him in stats. In recent interview for Spanish TV, Nadal said that he plays for the love of tennis, and Djokovic is only chasing the stats.

Isn’t Novak the guy who missed 3 grand slams because he didn’t want to get vaccinated?
Born to play grass. When he started the serve and volley game was just winding down. The grass around the net was worn. Miss that part of the game but Roger carried on with his aggressive style. My favourite of the great champs.
born to play tennis! surface dont matter
Roger is the whole reason I pursued becoming a professional tennis and now a professional coach, I pray that I can meet him someday by far my biggest role model

Iconic Roger.
I don’t care about statistics Roger Federer is the best player to ever live due to his finesse class, Tennis, IQ and composure. When you compare all of those to Novak, Roger is the clear winner
Absolutely. Novak could win 40 slams but could never touch the grace Roger possesses on and off court. Effortless he makes it appear
@@factsofmatter6513 also Roger being the most well-known popular athlete, globally and highest paid when it comes to sponsorships. Novak wishes he had Rolex and Mercedes.
I love him so much, Federer and Sharapova made me love Tennis, always follow them since Sharapova won Wimbledon in 2004
He’s always sincere in whatever subject he talks about. That makes him even more charming.
He’s the reason we’re traveling across miles to watch Live-tennis.. and never disappointed for doing so. Win/lose is a sport. But Federer has done it so gracefully. What he does throughout his career is very inspiring.

Dearest Roger FEDERER,
Thank you so much for your everything! The whole world misses you so much. It is really amazing to watch you on the TVs and personal interviews. You have plainly clarified the reasonable statements and remarks concerning the evolution of the young generation and other players. It is utterly an ideal approach from Roger in terms of the process and movement of 2024 season.

Such a classy interview. All of the big 4 or even others have respect for each other since they are professional sportsman. Its just few of the fans who promote toxicity. This thing also started when social media came. When we were young we never did that with rival fans. The only bad thing in the world today is social media.
God I love this guy
Tennis is simply not the same without him. That's no reflection on the current players, it's just that he was so special with his style, drive and just the way he was so respectful of his sport. Always the GOAT for me.

The best ever
I was depressed for a long time, and I looked so useless and bad. This music helps me relieve fatigue and stress
I don't think that I've had a fan crush for any other athlete like I had for Roger back in his heyday. I'm so glad that he got the chance to speak at Dartmouth (or should I say I'm glad that Dartmouth hosted him). I'm sad that I stopped following tennis as much as he stopped playing at that level, but I'm so stoked that Alcaraz won. The Big 3 are GOATs, but I'm glad to see that "5 year wave" and I really hope players like Sinner and Alcaraz live up to those expectations (kind of unrealistic to expect them to top the GS tally from the get go). At the end of the day, it's the game that needs to be celebrated, players come and go!
The goat for me 🏆
The Maestro ❤❤❤ love you Roger!!! 😊

You might as well say big 5 then with Stan...
But it's always been the big 3 💯
When the Big 3 are referred to it’s implied that they are the all-time three greatest legends of the game even above the Lavers, Samprases and Borgs. If top players of a particular generation/era is the point of discussion then Murray was definitely a big threat to the big three but so was Wawrinka. then it should be called Big 5.

when the big 4 were first called the big 4 Novak only had one slam. it’s not an applicable term now but it absolutely was when the term was originally coined
You’re right, it was big 4 then (of THAT particular era). However now, the Big 3 are referred to as the 3 greatest players of all time, not of any era. Murray himself would agree
