  • @olidojosephd.9054
    @olidojosephd.9054 Před 2 lety +158

    1. It's 1871-1918. Yes the Weimar constitution and first regular Weimar president and chancellor take office in 1919 but with the November Revolution and Wilhelm II's abdication, German Empire is no more by 1918. Ebert, before becoming Weimar president in 1919 was actually a chancellor in the last months of 1918 but with a vacant head of state (Kaiser/president) that time, he was acting like a head of the provisional government to replace the monarchy with a republic in 1918. Also, Weimar Republic was proclaimed November the same year. So it's 47 years not 48.
    2. It's 1949 not 1990. Reunified Germany is just a continuation of West Germany (1949-1990), from 1949 until today it's still called Federal Republic of Germany, the constitution used today was from 1949, the form of government is the same since 1949, and West Germany didn't apply for new UN, NATO, and EEC/EU membership when it absorbs East Germany, they just continue their seats in international organizations. So it 72+ years not 31.
    3. I think you need to standardize when it comes to military branches. If you'll gonna use unified armed forces/services on one, apply it to others as well (Kaiserliche Armee, Wehrmacht, and Bundeswehr). If your gonna use ground forces or land component on one then apply it to others as well (Imperial German Army, Deutsches Heer, and Heer).
    4. For German Empire, Maxim Machine Gun is one candidate for the lethal weapon but the deadliest weapon of WW1 was actually the artillery, in German Empire's case, that would be the Big Bertha.
    5. For the Third Reich, V-2 Rocket is also one candidate for lethal weapon.
    6. No Germany doesn't own nuclear weapons, it's through nuclear sharing, the nuclear weapons storage/vaults are American, it was guarded and operated by USAF personnel, the keys and codes were also American, the Americans would also have the say on where to drop it. It's just that they can be loaded and delivered through a non-US F-16 or a German Tornado aircraft.
    7. It's a semi-constitutional monarchy not constitutional, the Kaiser still holds tremendous power just like presidents in semi-presidential republics like France and Russia. It's just that Wilhelm I let Bismarck do his job but when headstrong Wilhelm II came, he started appointing "yes man" civil and public servants as chancellor that acts more like an advisor than a real chancellor. German Empire was also a military dictatorship under Hindenburg and Ludendorff during WW1.
    8. It was a South African-style parliamentary republic. Austrian Moustache Guy that Failed in Art School was both the head of state and head of government but he was elected by the legislature.
    9. It's 1934 to 1945 not 1933, yes Austrian Guy government influence as chancellor was growing by 1933 but overall, Pres. Hindenburg was still the one in charge that time because it's just continuation of semi-presidential Weimar Republic. It's just in 1934 where Austrian Guy got total power as the presidency and chancellery were merged into one position.
    10. Again, it should have started in 1949 not 1990 as such, Kohl (1982-1998) would be the longest serving chancellor not Merkel, Merkel (2005-2021) was near but not enough to beat Kohl and her term is ending this year in favor of SPD-led coalition (most likely Scholz would be the chancellor).

If you take the largest military strengh of any time for the Imperial Army and Wehrmacht, than this should go for the (modern) German Army too, which at its height had a strengh of 495.000 troops in 1990 (plus about 600.000 Reserves at the height of the Cold War). 2. Germany (The Federal Republic of Germany) is a Parliamentary Republic since 1949, reunification did not change the form of Government, only "new" states joined the Federal Republic of Germany. 3. The longest Reign of any German Chancellor of the one of Helmut Kohl, who was chancellor for 5869 Days. Merkel will only beat that on the 17th December this year. :)

I can't express how inaccurate these videos are. And you really should consider your sources, but wait I don't see any sources. Always leave the sources that you used.
If you are wondering what I am talking about, here are some things in this video that is not correct:
0:11 Germany wasn't born in 1990, that was when Germany reunited after the fall of the Berlin wall, but this is no big mistake.
0:19 Here I am just confused. It says at The German Empire 3.24M Km², but you can only see the European part of the empire, is this with or without the colonies? and if it's without the colonies, how come that Nazi Germany is smaller??? And while The German Empire's picture is in peacetime, Nazi Germany is during the second world war... what?
0:33 Is Nazi Germany's population in just Germany or all of the conquered territory? Not clear enough
0:48 Those numbers where did you get them from? And is the percentage number about battles or wars? Not clear enough
0:53 The Nazi Germany and Modern Germany's pictures are basically the same, you can even see what looks like a STG-44 in his hands. And I would also love to see those numbers, as I am pretty sure that the Wehrmacht had more soldiers in their army then the German Empire had. And when was this, was these numbers in a special year or just all people who had served. Not clear enough
1:09 Germany does not own any nukes and I am pretty sure that they are forbidden to own nukes. But the US has nukes stored in Germany.
1:40 Nazi Germany had more allies but to be fair that was their "main allies". Their other allies were Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Finland (if you count them)
The EU should not be counted as allies, as war is not a part of The European Union, instead you should have gotten with NATO.
2:15 Would like to see sources! I want to know where you got those numbers from.
2:26 Source of income? Well that would much more then Printing money, manufacturing and export of goods, there isn't just one source of income. I think Tax would be a large amount of their income.
Oh well, I think that's it. I did this because if the person making these videos read this, then they will know better. Feel free to add your opinion or correct any mistakes that I have made.

0:29 Surely it would be a fallacy to include people from military and civilian occupation zones (e.g. France, General Government, Ostland and Ukraine) where the populations were _actively opposed_ to the conquest of their countries. Additionally, in the map sequence there are several geographical and historical errors in the one for the Third Reich, such as having an unoccupied post-war Kaliningrad instead of including the pre-war German province of East Prussia, having the German advances in the centre and southern parts of the Eastern Front much too far ahead of the actual positions, and including Axis members occupied by Germany in the late war or client states such as the Independent State of Croatia while omitting the German puppet of the Slovak Republic.
