For anyone who doesn’t get the slip, jumping into the laser then fast travelling gives you invincibility, so he can get through the death barrier

Get in the call with the bloke that did the subnatica speed run. He seemed to know every single thing. And also was very good at relaying what he was doing.

The fact that he has learnt these grapples and strats and manages to survive this situations for this fast run in first 2 weeks of the game is absolutely beyond insanity.
Yes If they don't patch this stuff and runners learn more I feel like someone can get it done in about 33 minutes

Hey Noah so the laser disable thing is you leave after activating that cutscene then fall into the Laser from the top and fast travel to the fog but essentially that is a temporary God mode until you hit a skipable cutscene/ load into a mission area. Which allows the player to go to the bottom right corner of the map and jump over into the next area to go for the banshee. I thought you would have had a bigger reaction to how much is skipped thou. But glad you enjoyed the SR
The question that always comes to my mind is how one possibly discovers these glitches in the first place.
Playing a looooooot and watching on yt, i found a lot of gliths of halo 2/3 the 3 was very fun skipping
Don’t listen to the first comment he don’t know what he is talking about. Many glitches are found by accident. Due to the amount of players who play the game some people are bound to get glitches in their runs (for example I had a glitch where you can bounce all the way out of the sky box by grapple pounding a brute) the people who experience them sometimes talk about them on forums/Reddit/CZcams/etc and the speed running community finds out about them and incorporates them into the run. Some glitches are also found directly by speed runners who have decent knowledge of overloading the map/how campaign sequencing works and how to get around it (for example flying all the way to the final level)
When u understand map design and have played games for many years
The discord servers for speed runs are massive and well run any glitch that could be used in a run is posted and tried by the community and if there is a way it will be min maxed until useable
I feel like they have to know how the physics in the game works and how the game saves things and it's functions
When I played through this I thought to myself, this game is gonna be EPIC to watch speedrunners on!
Gotta say, the grappeling hook took the game from being just another shooter, to a unique, fun and innovating game.

@@fortyozsteak gotta love the hookshot, but its usage is very different. OOT hooks onto a very narrow selection (wood, metal hook things, stunning enemies) vs Infinite's having a fleshed out use case for pretty much any surface you snag (enemies, weapons, vehicles, walls, floors, coils)
An explanation to the massive skip is like you said you can’t die to out of bounds and when your in a flying vehicle (like the banshee) the invisible walls between islands disappear and the missions can be skipped as the 2nd last mission has nothing required to active so you can skip most of the game

You can die to OB in vehicles. He did a slip thru the laser to get thru this part
You haven’t done halo reach, 4 or 5 yet but they are all pretty damn crazy in their own ways and halo will always be some of my favorite speed runs lol they just so insane
Pretty much all the coil launches are very inconsistent and can cost you more time than just walking over to certain spots. Though if you do land the launches you save a large sum of time as well
The tank gun actually has a lot of skill requirements -- you either jump or stand at edge so it doesn't explode on ground in front of you -- he is managing that smoothly.
even if it hits you it doesn't deal any damage, you can even shoot an enemy right in your face and it wont hurt you
The way he swings around really makes you feel the exaggerated swagger of master chief

You’re 100% right about triggering a switch to disable death barriers. He did it with the laser from the extraction mine. When he goes into the pause menu and upgrades his gear he becomes invincible. This also triggers the ‘guardians’ to not be able to kill you in specific areas of the map on the banshee only. There’s a specific kill area that he purposely avoided and is the reason why he didn’t do a fusion coil jump. This game is essentially broken at this point in speed running lol
How does he do the wall glitch with the gravity hammer and grapple ?
@@joshbrovolski887 when he ground pounds a specific area it allows him to clip through the wall. I don’t believe it has anything to do with the grav hammer but rather the grappling hook mechanic. I haven’t tried any of the tricks myself but I’ve been keeping up with the speed running community since the campaign dropped. It’s been a wild ride to say the least.

The thing with laso (legendary all skulls on). Halo infinite doesnt allow checkpoints while not at full hp, it will be the 1 run killer for laso speedruns since you can only heal in laso from melee
These speedruns will eventually be so optimized that every grapple hook point will be pixel perfect to the exact point lol
My experience with the coil launches has been kinda inconstant. I’m still practicing them though. I can get so crazy launches and some launches that just send me five feet back
For those who don't about the Scarab Cannon, it's a gun that you can find in Halo 2 that shot Scarab rounds and pretty much one hit anything and everything. I'm glad it came back in the form of the Scorpion Cannon.

Like even on the rng based runs to see the overview of a SR seeing that pattern unfold in his run a lot of people give you the ability to react to their speed runs but after how much your other videos blew up I’m sure more speed runners would be more willing to collaborate
I think a "SpeedRunning Explanation" video would be a great series. plus it would help a lot of people getting into those games wanting to start speedrunning them. I loved how Subnautica speed runner(Salvner) you reacted to explained everything he was doing. that's why its my favorite reaction Video you've done.
If anyone was confused on the segments where Sloth glitched out of the geometry of the map, it’s just precise aim and using grappleshot groundpound to glitch out.

So noah at 30:00 where he is flying to the end. before that where he is at the drill if u grapple the wall and land ontop of the lasers go into ur inventory and fast travel u become invincible/godmode and u can fly anywhere u cant die to barriers or 10 to 0 timer areas as long as ur in a banshee u cant die to the guardians i think. I forgot one thing when u go into a mission you are not invincible anymore. Then you have to do the glitch again.
I really wish microsoft didn't just drop the game because multiplayer wasn't received well.
It's their own fault, now they think Halo needs a break.
What it really needs is campaign dlc.
The narration never takes any breaks, that's..... impressive.
When he jumped into the laser and fast travelled he got himself God Mode, and with a Banshee you can then fly anywhere. He is now indestructible.
The snipers are a breath of fresh air in LASO mode. Damn upgraded grunts can be stunned and you in mid-punch and a plasma appears.. big pain. Jackal / sniper are usually safest ways to get shield.
Noah, maybe you could do a collab with Fireb0rn and see a hollow knight speedrun. Its crazy how fast they can go, and he knows the route and skips like the back of his hand.
To my understanding the trick with the Coil at 4:30 was patched out. I personally haven't gotten it to work a single time, but maybe I just don't get how to do it, lol
Hey man! You should react to Halo Runs segmented speedruns, it's basically the best speedruner for each different level edited together seamlessly and of course it features more insane tricks that normally wouldn't be viable through a whole campaign Speedrun.

Yea the vehicles are very easy to flip, expecially the blade bike vehicle thingy, the one with hover at the back and 2 wheels at front
i completed the game and never got the unearthed achievement which i think is that mining laser mission with one of the bosses in, when i saw people fighting him for the first time i wondered how id accidently skipped it lol

I’m sure I’m posting this comment in the wrong area but could we maybe see a collection of his favorite speedruns with the speed runner themselves? I’ve seen the videos with the fallout SR’s but as a zombies fan would you be willing to try and bring the dude who set a solo wr on der eisendrache or the solo origins speed runner?
Hate to tell you, but the world record has already been lowered to 34m 55sec 😅 the community is going nuts with exploration right now
Maybe this is why the achievements say to "complete all 14 main missions" and do X. this way he only completes 3 so maybe no achievement unlock if he didnt already have them. Also they figured out a way to last mission without having to get the banshee. at the first FOB you can glitch yourself a pelican to pilot around so once you get the invincibility at the lazer just hop in the pelican right away and go. that is minutes faster.
I was doing a laso playthrough and I shot the boss from 35 min mark so fast after skipping the cut scene his shield hadn’t loaded and the tank gun killed him instantly. After blowing up the first energy thing it let me release Esparza

Edit - I beat Legendary with all skulls but I figured out that you had to do all mission so I did it again and I got the achievement.
I'll tell you what, the sentinel beam is the best weapon for playing on legendary (legitimately). I didnt discover it till the last couple missions cause it sucks in MP, but my god is it OP in campaign. it takes down elites in like 2 seconds.

when you fast travel while getting shot by the laser you get invincibility tell you start a mission, you can’t fusion coil across the map because there is invisible barriers but the banshee has kill barriers instead so you fly through them with invisibility

When the game first released it took me 18 hours 42 minutes to complete the entire story main missions plus every side thing in the game took me 18 hours and one sitting I did not get up whatsoever almost 19 hours straight

The point of those actions after reload over laser were to trigger the god-mode... as he's going across map he's not dying and can break kill walls. but I think not using the coil travel exploit must cost him on time.
