    To everyone in the comments I had about 4 months of combine BJJ experience. Everyone I faced was at least a blue belt at my weight and in absolute I gave up 30+ pounds against everyone plus experience. I could’ve entered in advanced at my weight but there was 2 people Vs 6 at intermediate.
    I also understand a wrestler probably beat you up at bjj practice and that’s why you’re hate commenting on my video.

      @@hithisisharris I've been training jiu jitsu for 8 years, and the collegiate wrestlers do very well in any division. Usually they are at the top of whatever belt they are in jiu jitsu.
      I'm a jiu jitsu guy turned wrestler, and I admit if you learn how to wrestle you'll dominate the jiu jitsu guys fairly easy. The real problem are guys that know jiu jitsu and can wrestle at least collegiate level. That's when you're a monster on the mat and everyone has that ah shit feel when they face them!
      If everyone was at least blue/purple and he has very low jiu jitsu experience (4 months), he's in the correct division. Now if everyone was a white belt, I would call him out. This is great experience for him and everyone involved though!

    Gj! Lucas look up tony checchine the lost art of hooking I suggest you get it. Awesome intro to catch wrestling! You won’t have to change anything about your grappling skills as far as wrestling goes. It’s like amateur wrestling with submissions baked in from the beginning. In catch they also have different types of subs that aren’t practiced in bjj

    It seems to me that in general wrestling is the superior base because it has better positional control and you can determine where the match takes place. Definitely as for MMA, wrestling is superior.

    With the recent explosion of bjj popularity one would think there would be an abundance of lower caliber blue and purple belts that have very limited mat time and even less competitive mat time. Especially compared to a D1 wrestler. I dunno if the self back pat video is warranted yet

      People are always afraid to celebrate achievements these days... Compete and lose I still say post a YT video showing everyone you had the balls to fail... Nothing wrong with this guy showing us what he did, personally I found it quite interesting PS. I'm a massive fan of the d'arce too

      How could you be a purple belt with limited mat time? :D That is ridiculous. You have to train very consistently (which should always incklude rolling) for about 5 years to get to purple.

    • @ParkerPPipe
      @ParkerPPipe Před rokem

      @@tobiasheinrich104 you missed the point ding dong. Because of the popularity of bjj blue and purple belts are handed out like hot cakes. There’s Gracie gyms where I live that give belts out via video training. You send in a video of you doing certain moves with your buddy and ol rener sends you a belt. It ain’t like it used to be. So like I said, there’s lots more blue and purple belts out there these days that don’t have a ton of mat time.
