That's a very expensive pen for an unknown company. Brands like Cross or Parker can sell high end pens at a higher price because their products have been time tested. To immediately go big on a kickstarter project of all things is not a great way to create a lasting image.
So for real, though, how *is* that clip made?! You used the phrase "it appears to be one piece", which implies it isn't actually, but boy does it look like it even in the close-up shots. What witchcraft is this?!
i have a feeling that the clip is a separate piece that slots into a rectangular cut out at the top of the pen. the body of the pen is turned on a lathe without the clip, and then they cut a slot into it and place the clip portion in and whatever contact bonding he talked about making titanium threads stick together is being applied to the build intentionally. you take two very cleanly machined pieces, slot them together, then toss them into a vacuum chamber. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_welding my 2 cents, at least.
Are you seriously selling a ball point pen for over $75? People would be nuts to pay that much for what is a common writing instrument. I don't care if it's solid gold...it's a friggin' writing instrument. A $0.49 Bic will do the same job! Don't try to kid yourself, it's a silly, stupid idea.
I care more about cartridge than about pen.
To me it looks broken but all the best!
Why would I pay $78 for a Machined Pen when I can get a 10pk for a few dollars. When the mechanism breaks I grab a new one.
For fun. Some people just like expensive pens. And as far as expensive pens go this isn't even close to the most expensive one out there.

It actually can be seen for a few seconds in the CAD file, from 0:21 - 0:25 in the video.
$78??? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Nice pen but people lose pens or someome accidentally steals it. At this build quality i would at least expect life time warranty.

You (nor I) are not the target audience evidently. There are ppl who do pay that.
looks cool. prolly feels great too.
How much is a Montblanc... People with stupid money buy stupid things.
