Thank you for making this! The original Warrior of Light, ever since playing both dissidia’s (well 3 technically) has always been my favorite character. Even FF14 has references to him and it’s astounding. I appreciate you making this and I hope this video stays up for a heck of a long time, I’m sure I’ll come back and watch it a bunch :)

The Warrior of Light is my favorite Final Fantasy character as well! I'm glad Dissidia really put the time and effort in not only fleshing out the WoL but the world of FF1 as well. (Cid even made it into the remakes) FFXIV not only has multiple references but like some other popular FF characters allows you to "play" as him by giving you his equipment and his unique features (like a hair option that specifically mentions him that you can buy) in character creation.
That part of FF14 breaks my heart!... TT v TT Poor WoL Elidibus...Poor man fell into such dispair. ; n ; "POOR ELIDIBUS and seeing the man he turned into (the 1st WoL) from this game makes his downfall even sadder. TT n TT" the poor guy just wanted to save his friends but we too wanted to save our friends" it destroyed me having to fight him and end him specially when looking like the "1st WoL"!... TT n TT my poor heart couldn't take it!... i cried for days because of that it broke me!...I know he is a fantasy character but that hit me hard!... ; n ; to me Elidibus was truly a WoL maybe even one of the best...maybe even better than my WoL... :'(

Sure, its called Modern Legend. Depending on what jobs you have you can either get it on the market board or for 1,800 Skybuilders' Scrips in Ishgard.
I always get chills during the battle scene between WoL and Garland. So funny to know that they are the only ones not taking a single blow in their signature scene.
I seriously want to thank you for this, as before this video came along at best you could find bits and pieces of WoL's cutcenes. Its great to finally have them all in one place.

the warrior light should be main character in F F 1 remake not jack garland but i understand why garland story is important as well. he make sense that the warrior of light has empty emotional but righteous character. i like it i wish my choices in my life was precise with the conviction the warrior of light has.

it was garland so yeah but if there is ff1 remake OF COURSE warrior of light will be the main character
This game is really timeless, isn't it? 10 months ago the Kingdom Hearts mod for this released, and now 6 months ago we get this too!

Aw man I really liked seeing WoL like a somewhat villain if only for just a few minutes or seconds...WoL would deffenetly be cool but also scary as a bad guy. :D

It shouldn't, Dissidia FMVs have been uploaded safely for years. They originally got flagged for spoiling the ending but I doubt SE cares anymore.

Wait no wayyy, so that crystal WoL had at the start of FF1 was from Cosmos? Then how about Lukhan's prophecy? Is that still applied?

The scene with WOL teaming up with Lightning to fight Chaos warriors is from what particular game? Cos I have Dissidia 012 and I don't know those scenes

That was his world; hence the castle in the background; it's the castle from FF1, the first castle before you slay garland i believe.

His original creator came from the world of final fantasy 1 (Cid did to be exact). Even though WoL is a manikin, he was a perfected existence like Cosmos or Chaos, although he took a different route to said 'completion'. Well, a simpler explanation is that he had no world to return to, except mirror A / B, which is of course, just a copy of FF1.

The short answer is "yes, but it's vague exactly how".
The ending of Dissidia directly mirrors the opening of FF1, showing the Warrior walking to Cornelia, and in Dissidia NT he confirms he was indeed the Warrior who was sent to rescue Princess Sarah from Garland in the Chaos Shrine. However, the Reports in Dissidia 012 that mention the prophecy of the Warriors of Light only specify there will be ONE warrior, not a group; on the other hand, the Dissidia NT scene I mentioned has the Warrior say that Garland "awaited US", implying he was one of a group.
So, yeah.

@@DrakeyC If you guys are interested, strangers of paradise "confirms" Wol being the hero of FF1 within a group of 4. You play as garland to kill him (same design and voice from Dissidia), and after some cycle (?) you have to use WoL to kill jack and so end the game.

No one knows. Prishe gave him one, and when Cosmos called to him at the end of the 12th cycle, she apparently said his name. But they've never revealed it.
A short one. It's one syllable only. I've heard it may be Zest and it would make sense as it can be said in one syllable
