In my experience I water them but, I'll wait until the soil dry first before the next watering. The watering is just to make the soil moist. Yes, too much water can cause the cuttings to rot.

Pl share Potting mix for this plant
Hi. For this you can use normal garden soil. Just make sure it's not premixed with any fertilizer.

You are right, you potting mix cannot be too moist.
