Triggered this mode once unbeknownst on a cold start, thinking the car was broken😂. it’s really embarassingly loud. Like having an exhaust that’s riddled with holes. Couldn’t switch it off by restarting the car, had to fiddle with the driving modes.
the difference in sound results from the different positions of the wastegate! Always closed in dynamic to build up pressure faster! I am amazed that you find out so late ;-)
Each time you turn the ignition off it will reset back to non-loud mode. To overcome this on start up just select comfort then go back to individual and it’s on again
Interesting, I have an S3 2021 and although it’s a different engine and computer interface, I’m going to experiment with the individual settings tomorrow. Thanks
If the car is in set to dynamic all those settings you just showed automatically go to dynamic. So if you start the car while it’s in dynamic in theory it should be the loudest it could be. I could be wrong but it wouldn’t be very Audi like to have a special “louder function” I’d be curious to watch a before and after of these specific individual settings that you have set in comparison to just full dynamic mode on start up.
I've got one of the new 8Y RS3s and I have to admit I was a little disappointed with the exhaust note. It sounds good, but it's nowhere near as loud as I expected. My last car was an M2 Comp, and I thought the switch to the RS3 would be a step up in terms of exhaust sound, but the M2 actually sounded better imho, and definitely louder. Significantly louder in fact. Overall I prefer the RS3 though.
Is this assuming sport mode is off? I usually drive mine in dynamic sport so when I switched it to what you did, with sport off, it did not sound as good until I put it into sport, but then it sounded the same as dynamic sport.
😟this is very strange to me as my current facelift 2019 rs3 doesn’t have all these settings, all mine has is 1.engine sound 2.steering 3.quattro 4.transmission .. it doesn’t say “engine/trans” or any of the other extra settings that your car has. Please help cause I’d love to have these settings 😮
Interesting, I bet your transmission is the same as my "engine/trans", and suspension/ACC will be there only if you have dynamic suspension and radar guided cruise control.
Something I've noticed is when I'm driving around in comfort and I come to a stop if I pull back on the stick I can hear the tone of the exhaust get louder. I'm still new to this car so if that's obvious then I apologize.
The downshifts? I'm just downshifting in manual mode. Different versions will make different sounds, the pre-facelift does huge backfires, mine is the facelift non-opf and does that, the OPF version does less pops, and the new 2022 looks like it does no pops.
@@AyeWhityou have a 2019 TTRS? Because the TTRS has no resonators from factory where as the rs3 does. They’re small but they’re still there.. lol and also you just mentioned you removed your muffler
@@9to5high 2018 , but yes deleted the muffler and resonator (which they do have). I’m simply saying the burbles I get with no tune sound fantastic. Can’t wait to build this one 😁
What kind of racing? if drag, I'd just use "Dynamic" as that's likely the mode the engineers expected the car to get drag raced in. If circuit, everything in dynamic, but chose suspension based on the track and steering based on what you feel most comfortable with.

select these settings and drive it in ‘S’ not ‘D’. The result is even louder and pops in downshift especially 3>2.
confirm on S3 it works too
Also works on a 2015 TTS?

That will put the car into sport engine mode, which opens the valves

How is it different from the other Modes? Doesn't really seem louder
It holds valves open below 3k rpm even at light throttle, where as dynamic mode seems to be a bit more muffled for light throttle under 3krpm
