  • Trying another new spot to check deer numbers and to see if the stags are roaring yet. Got to stay in the coolest little backcountry sheep musterers hut that dates back to the early 1900s

    Better luck next time we’re got four stag’s roaring up on the stoke foothills they’re been doing it for a week now all in the area that there is no hunting cheers mate.

    So mate , noticed you have zero high vis, is this common, as you here the stories of hunters being shot , because of miss identity

      The percentage of those shot wearing hi viz is actually higher than those just wearing camo. I feel it’s better not to be seen than stand out in something that closely resembles a deer in summer coat. Also a large percentage of NZ males a partially colour blind and orange looks brown to them.
