Ive been doing this for 2 years now. Easiest explanation ever. Thank you
Thank you so much Alexander I really appreciate you watching please hit the like button and share
Thanks man I’m here on Guam and currently studying at Trades Academy for HVAC certainly a newbie, we need more people like u man keep it going.
You're welcome John thank you so much for watching
I will keep going my friend
🤙🏻
how did it go bud?
Shout out to all the first year hvac guys here
Leche! Hafa adai chel, hows the field looking like back home ? Any good opportunities besides the base ?
Lol and to think my class spent a whole week learning this. You made it simple in 10 seconds 👏😂
really?
dude that makes me feel great
Thank YOU 😊
U could throw in a contractor or relay for the fan. Won’t have the delay but it’s cheaper and depending how old the unit. It’s Simi permanent repair for me.
Man your the best teacher ever!!
Before you condemn the board you should check N to Ground looking for 0 volts to be certain that the neutral wire isn't broken.
Checking Neutral to Ground isn't going to necessarily confirm a bad Neutral. You should check for continuity throughout Neutral, and the IBM's Ground, if it's a separate one.
Hahaha I love how you ended with bad board!
U should bypass feed the 115v to blower motor, secondary check blower motor good or bad. Let troubleshooting 100%
I had this same situation this season
Don’t use the word “bad” use failing or failed; or shorted if that’s the case. Using “bad” to explain parts not working doesn’t express that technical knowledge you possess when explaining to a client/customer why their equipment isn’t working properly. Also if you look young or are a new tech it helps to overcome people that may question your expertise because of your youthful look or confidence when explaining why the price for you time is what it is
Very good josh I like the explanation and the better choice of Words.
Thanks for commenting and supporting
Professional response to, yaa..
The video ended to quick I couldn't see where the second point to check was.
You can also Plug the black wire from the blower to the power-off side of the door switch and use the door switch to turn the motor On 😬
😊
Can you detail how to use door switch to test motor?
@@mengw449it's just the line voltage coming in, which has to pass through the door switch. Same concept as jumping R to G to turn on the fan for 24 voltage.
Splice the 120 for the control board and run it to the blower to make sure the blower motor is good before you leave to get the board. Might need a board and a motor.
They do fail in multiple ways. I had one on my furnace which the ignitor circuit died. Mind you the board was functioning perfectly for over 22 years. Any one of the functions in the ignition process can fail on the board. I have dealt with boards that were just weak electrically and the furnace would fire and work sometimes. Relays tend to get sticky with age and the high electrical draw points eventually wear out.
Tech came when my furnace kick on and off then to top it off no heat blowing thru the vent. They say board is bad and new furnace is needed. So ended with them leaving fan running all winter using the burner for heat. So i have to use the shut off switch. Anyway to override this so i can still use the switches on the wall to turn heat or air on??? I dont want the fan running all the time, any suggestions?
@@disnalee After the furnace reaches about 15 to 20 years old many companies will just want you to replace the unit instead of just a control board. If the heat exchanger checks out okay you can just replace the control board. In your case your control board will not respond to the thermostat, if this what you mean when you say the switches on the wall. There is no economical way to do this other than replacing the control board.
This some really good info thanks man.
You're welcome

It's the simple " goes inta" goes outa" if the power goes in but doesn't go out, board has an issue
Can use door switch and force 120v to blower just another way to test
Yeah, I dont have power to the gas valve, so I ordered a "used board" no idea if the guy sold me a bad board,,,but has the same issue.
Or take one of the speed tap wires to furnace switch and see if it runs
Yas
Bro how do I know if another circuit board that I have is compatible with the one that I took out of my current furnace 4 Heat. Biggest reason is that the one that I got is out of the house next door that is vacant and I am supposed to take from there to make this home that I'm in better currently so hence that means the circuit board that I got is free
Nice. I really don’t see those universal S9200 boards fail too often
Same here
So when you say check neutral to fan speed , that’s neutral to cool ?
Thought you were Travis Kelce for a moment
I always like to take it a step further and jump 120 to the motor just to watch it turn before condemning only the board. Probably a noob skill I’ll grow out of but works for now and takes an extra 5 seconds.
I like that Very cool 😎
Not a rookie move. That's a no call back move. Good move either way
They say my board was bad $500 and they want to sell me new furnace.
Neutral to fan speed wire
But R and G is where it originates from 😳
So my fan turns on the Aux heat turns on but the outside unit doesn't kick on and (on heat or cool) and it also only gets hot on Aux but not normal heat. Checked voltage going into the contractor and nothing shows. What could be the possibilities? The board inside the panel of the unit? It also has a solid red on d1 and d2 blinks when on inside.
Completely different issue. Had to replace bottom element. When you cut the oven on it says 350 the clicks back off????
Do you need to have the furnace running to check for voltage? Or itll be able to show while its off still?
Thanks!
Welcome!
Might wana flush the drain line also that way when the coil unthaws it'll help drain.
absolutely your right
Put a standard motor and capacitor, set on and off delay at the thermostat for 30 seconds.
sometimes the simple things are better than the fancy stuff..
@@mariomartinez4143 indeed Mario. When you can do something simple rather then complicated, when it accomplishes the same thing ... why not !
What if the thermostat is out and therefore not calling for the fan to run? (Thermostat is getting power from c wire)
Jump fan and r (24v) at tstat - bad board the fan still wont run. If fan runs when jumped out by tstat then tstat is bad
Bro. Maybe you can help me. Please. I have a hot water system, Honeywell. Circulation pump is running, flue stays open, gas valve is humming at the spot where the wires connect. Pilot light won’t stay lit. Was replacing thermocouple when I heard the hum. Thought that was odd. Noticed the flue (dampener?) was in the open position, then noticed pump was running. Gas valve, control board or something else? Thx!
which is the fan speed wire?
Had T stat intermittently cut in and out burn contractor up. In return burn xformer up Never blew 5 amp fuse
Interesting
Exactly what I thought. I jumped out t stat. After I replaced x former and coil was direct short. Unit stoped intermittent Cheap t stat. Just wild that 5 amp fuse never blew.
@@mrmorganleesslimeworldvido4254probably a chinesium fuse.
I’m very new to hvac, is there a possibility that the fan wire is open? Any feedback would be gr8
A wire isnt a relay
@@serialseatsniffer5610I think he meant the winding inside the fan motor.
so if a control board built in relay don't work-wont energize it's NO contact whole mama board got to be replaced? Dat depends how complicated & expensive a main board is..We used to repair boards like dis with defective parts swapped for York,Trane,Daikin, Dectron,
Have you ever worked in electronics where fault part is replaced on boards? I know, you're onsite, owners screaming that their equipment need to be up and running in a heartbeat, yea real service world..
call the AC man to find out
Throw a relay in temporarily
Component bad not board
But that's just the fan relay right depending on model?
yes connected to the board
Bad board? How about changing out the 2 dollar fan relay on the board....Good board
That's a better idea
All I have to say is give it a try see how that works for you
Is control board the same as zone board?
No. A zoned board is specifically designed to control the dampers for the equipment and thermostat.
that's incorrect sir. my experience is most "technicians" know it's bad by swapping out the board. if the unit works it was the board. (in their mind.)
Awsome
You should tell them to go R And G to check for 24 volts
why
@@TaddyDigest pick up 24 volts
When R and G circuit are closed there is 24 volts from C and G
When R and G circuit is open there is 24 volts present
Are we on the same page?
@@TaddyDigest 😂🤣 you're great, man.
@Taddy Digest lol yes
❤That's a headache 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Send me the board, I'll replace the relay.
It is the relay!!!!!!!
Yes you are correct good job
Why is white wire the common wire? Maybe because it's a wire that's not being used so they use the white one.
white wire on C is your common for Y & C to the condenser unit when it calls for 24v
Blessing and more blessings to you and your family in Jesus name Amen
Thank you brother Charles
@@TaddyDigest Thank you but Taddy you are a blessing to all of these people including myself.
Unfortunately I'm injured and don't have a lot of money and I'm almost retired so you gave me hope so my wife and I won't suffer in Texas heat.
I truly appreciate your help and knowledge. God bless you sir.
Wow then praise be to the most high God
The God of Abraham
The God of Daniel
The God of Jacob
The God of Israel
Amen to that!
Just a tidbit from tad
Control board of what? Lots of things in this world has one, and they are usually very different .
White is common?
the board is probaly bad due to all that water dripping on it.
guaranteed Boom
Can I test off any neutral on the board?
yes
Lies, it's the relay on the back, swap it out for 3 dollars.
You could swap the board for a relay
That's a good idea
I think it will cost more than $3 L o l
Send me a link to the relay
24 volts to G energizes a built in relay on the board, that powers fan, but I was being sarcastic. We want to fix the problem the first time swapping the board is the best choice. 👌 that relay is probably hard to get lol
lol 😆 😂 😆 I thought you were serious
You the Man You got me
@@TaddyDigest lol keep them coming man, I like watching this videos. Stay sexy.
Install a temporary relay until you get the new board.
yup great 💡 💡
I've always just wired it hot until parts in
So you're showing off;you know darn well no one knows what your talking about but your boyfriend does.
Oh ok, that was easy. 😎🫡👍
yes very simple
