I am only a sometimes cook. (I have a husband who does most of the cooking) but this recipe worked very well for me. First I only wanted to try the spinach and spam because they did not look to difficult. But it worked so well I made all four. 감사합니다. Now I am extra motivated to try another recipe.

The amazing thing about those metal meal boxes is that they can be heated up. I grew up in a rural area in Korea and we had a gas heater in the middle of the classroom. We would all put our lunchbox on top of it and then shake it right before eating. Like she said, this is something older generation experienced but I was lucky in a way, I guess.

Aaron I have multiple food allergies (including egg, soy and sesame) but I always watch all of your videos even though I can't eat most of it, because everything looks so delicious and beautiful.
Scallion oil is really easy to make, maybe a ginger/scallion oil will give you a flavorful pop since you can't use sesame. And maybe some roasted almonds or sunflower seeds can give you some of the nutty flavor.
@@zeldapinwheel7043 Yes, I work around it. I avoid nuts as well (something has set off my allergies again and until I get testing it's hard to know what's driving the problem) but there are some alternative options for some of the dishes. I just wish I could eat egg again - it was one of my favourite things!
I'm also allergic to sesame, but I've found perilla oil to be of almost identical taste.

As always, I love your take on Korean classics. QQ - how long did you blanch the potatoes?
Idk how long he blanched them, but the easiest way to test them is just pick one up and break it in half, you will be able to tell if it's ready or not. If it breaks like celery, it's not done. It should break like a french fry, and you can see that the middle is JUST cooked, . He sliced them pretty thin, so he probably blanched them a little under 5 minutes.
Claire I think you're right about shaking & mixing it all together. As good as it looked, it looked even more amazing after you mixed & shook it up. 😋😋😋👍
