GIANT 170 Drop Tine Buck Reincarnated!

- We are throwing it back this week to a story of a buck we called Don that was a 170 inch drop tine buck and believe it or not he reincarnated. This deer we had quite the history with. We watched him for a few years, passed him several times and during his 4 year old year he blew up! He blew up to one of the biggest bucks we had ever seen on our land up in Western New York to be honest. The pressure was on to see if we could get it done throughout the season but unfortunately archery season was a wash. We saw him a few times but could never run in to him for a shot. Gun season came around and he kind of went MIA. It wasn't until early December when Pops was sitting in one of our favorite Redneck Blinds and we had a massive snow storm roll through that Don showed himself again. After fumbling with the camera and finally getting it on him, Pops squeezed off a 200+ yard shot that dropped him in his tracks! The story of Don finally came to an end. Or did it?! Wait until you see what happens when we go recover this deer!

Where did the first shot end up hitting?
It went through the vertebrae of the spine at the top of the shoulders. There was actually a hole right through the bone of the spine. He hit right where he wanted to, but Some how it didn’t bust the spine and nerves to kill him. Really crazy.
