Both trucks are very nice. As a new owner of a 2020 Nissan Titan pro-4x I am very happy with my purchase. I like that I don’t have to deal with auto start stop or cylinder deactivation. I hope this truck lasts me a very long time.

I've had a 2006 Titan. Eventually sold it and decided to downsize to a 2022 Frontier as I figured I'd be okay with it. I could never get comfortable with it. It had an actuator issue with the lock, but since it was a brand new refresh I knew some quirks had to be worked out. The bottom line is, once you get used to a full sized truck, it's hard to downsize. They're just so much more comfortable and roomy. Inside and outside are great as I get a bigger bed to store things under my diamondback Tonneau cover.
I ended up trading it in last November for a 2023 Titan that I got for not much more than the Frontier as the dealers in Atlanta have been cutting them down almost $10k. I The Titan just offers so much that it's hard to go for anything else. That said the Frontier is a great midsize truck and I would happily recommend it to anybody looking for midsize.

As a 2021 Titan Pro4x owner I may be bias, but I prefer the the full size pickup for the same reasons you mentioned. Power with the V8 is great, comfort with the seats and space in the interior, and the reliability. The Frontier is a great midsized truck though. I would take it over anything else out there if I was in the market. I do wish these trucks had better aftermarket support. Despite that I love my Titan and hope Nissan keeps it around.

Titan Pro-4x owner myself. I wanted the full-size truck for the beefier power, extra towing capability and larger cabin space. The mid-size is great for those seeking something smaller and 'fun'. Both great trucks, it boils down to how practical do you want your truck? Love Nissan vehicles, I've owned the 350z, 370z, Titan and soon the Armada. Great warranty and quality.

Great video, Ben. It will be interesting to see what happens with the Titan in the future, whether it stays in production or not. Hard to beat its warranty but not its fuel economy. The Frontier seems solid but the newer redesign already could use a few tweaks such as a tighter turning radius, telescoping steering wheel, power rear window, and rear seat AC vents, all of which many of its competitors have. I can’t imagine you ever get tired of those mountain views out west. Sure beats our overpopulated urban skyline views in central Ohio. LOL

AS the owner of a 2022 Frontier SV I can attest to the durability of these trucks, having owned a 2009 SE for 13 yrs, other than regular maintenance only had 1 issue with it and NO recalls. Nissan engineers put a more fuel efficient V6 and trans starting in 2020. Performance is great and shifts perfectly and better torque than the old 4.0 V6. My only complaints: they took out the bed floor cleats, no tinted glass on the windshield and went to a foot parking brake, hand brake was better. However they did add a rear sway bar which helps handling. Overall glad I got one.

Nissan’s 5.6 doesn’t have the Hemi tick, GM LT’s cam failure nor Ford’s Eco boost cam actuator death rattle. I switch from a Ram to a Titan because of the awful E-Torque system in the Ram. I am very impressed with both trucks. I will cross shop both. Love the Pro4X trim, but don’t need that much off road capability. I would go with SV trim (midnight edition). Love the Nissan truck warranty. Appreciate their naturally aspirated engines. Biggest issue for me is the marginal payload capacities in both. The SV trim would be better. Honda Ridgeline has more payload than either of these two trucks. I would lean toward the Frontier, but will shop for Titan discounts to see how close the Titan would be to some mid-size truck prices.

I 💯 agree with your summary. There's no resolving full vs midsize preference, but the Frontier is better in its category than the Titan is in its. I drive pickup trucks in my business. In many ways, a mid sized crew cab with a 6' bed is very comparable to a full sized crew cab with a short bed (LxW= usable bed space) but a little more gear storage in the back seat area of full size. Factor in fuel economy, price, drive ability/parking/bed accessibility; and mid sized trucks are more practical. Big trucks can be more fun until you get tired of them. I have to admit, though, full sized trucks get much more respect from cars on the highway. Especially black ones!🤪
