Titan all the way!!!
I still think the Titan looks good after all these years. Hope they don’t discontinue it.
If they choose to redesign it, Titan sales might rebound
Unfortunately 2023 is the last year for the Titian according to Nissan. Goodby my friend😢
@@michaelgreen9484didn’t they say it was getting a redesign for 2024?
@@Davethegoat19I heard that also.
They discontinued it in Canada but not here in the us
Gotta love the Nissan. Simple V-8 and very reliable. Does everything you need to do with a truck.
People have forgotten what a truck is, in 2023 the titan is a real truck
@@daniellarr4004Absolutely
All for the same 50k price as any other truck 🎉
I could not agree more. I have a 2012 Titan S with close to two hundred thousand miles that I dearly love. It does everything I need it to do, pulls my trailer and Slingshot like its nothing, handles like a dream and is stunningly rust free (Ohio). My only complaint is with the gas gauge. It works way to well, 16 mpg empty and 11.5 with trailer, but then again pickup trucks aren't known for great gas mileage. The Toyota is clearly a beautiful truck that is up to any challenge your average owner would ever need. That being said, and I loudly admit my bias here, there is nothing like a Titan, old or new.
Just bought a Titan Pro 4X. Awesome truck
Underrated for sure. To me it’s the best and the last true pickup. Big V8 without the silly stuff like cylinder deactivation. Does everything you need without all of stuff that can go wrong. Good luck with your truck, awesome choice!
What did it sticker for and what didnthey sell it for ?
Got my 2024 back in February, and I love everything about it.
I recently purchased a pro4x after exhaustive research on all ½ton trucks.
When looking at budget the Nissan offered so much more than any other manufacturer for the $$$. Definitely more truck for the money. The only thing I could possibly complain about is that the seats are a little hard on the rear end, a gell foam cushion fixed that.
When looking at the tundra the best thing I could figure is you will pay more before it's a Toyota.
Definitely choosing the Titan. It still has the V8, looks miles better, and is most likely more reliable.
My truck buying journey started in 2021.
The 2021 TRD Pro Tundra in Lunar Rock didn’t happen after months on order. There’s a bad story behind that whole experience - that would turn into a novel if I tried to write it down! Got my deposit back.
I moved on and checked into the 2022 GMC Sierra AT4 - and another somewhat annoying story with this one. The dealership wouldn’t sell a truck without a trade-in. …A blessing in disguise.
Then, I ordered a 2022 Chevy Trail Boss in Sand Dune Metallic. …which I still think is a sweet looking truck.
Well, the 2022 didn’t happen. I had to re-order for the 2023 Trail Boss.
After months of waiting, the 2023 didn’t happen either. The dealership informed me that I would have to re-order for 2024 - and, by the way, Chevy had discontinued the Sand Dune Metallic color.
Got my deposit back from that dealership also.
I cannot recall how exactly I stumbled upon the 2023 Nissan Titan Pro 4X in Baja Storm, but I saw it online or something. I went to a Nissan dealership that had one on the lot - and just fell in love with it. It wasn’t my intention to buy the truck that day. A manager said he would take $1,000 off the price. I said no. He replied $2,000. I still said that I wanted to take time to think on it. When he offered to take off $3,000, I broke and purchased the truck.
I got the 2023 Nissan Titan Pro 4X for under 60k. The Trail Boss that I tried to order was going to cost over 70k!!
And to be honest, now I think I actually like the looks of the Baja Storm Pro 4X over the Sand Dune Metallic Trail Boss. And I like many other things about the Pro 4X too.
So… things worked out for the best. I’m just sorry that it took years for me to look into the Nissan Titan Pro 4X.
I don't think the 2021 Tundra (previous generation) even came with a rear locker. Crazy!
Update? Still likey?
@@chadh1721 Yes, I love my truck! Sadly, 2024 is the last year for Titans tho. ...so I have heard.
@@duckydave3481 Nice, that’s very good to hear. I have an 04’ that’s annoyingly reliable. I have no reason to get a new truck but knowing the new titans are reliable is going to make it easy picking up another one.
do you get at least 15mpg? I just took one for a spin. What a beast of a truck..@@duckydave3481
I have a 2020 Nissan Titan SV 4X4 and it’s a great truck. I looked at the big 3 and got the Titan instead after spending a year researching maintenance, price point, etc. Totally underrated.
Good choice 👌 I bought a Titan pro 4X and put a 3" Lift on it.
They are nice trucks.
Same, us smart folks bought Titan's!
@@bc_usa What a dream! I need a 3 inch lift on mine.
@@Scantcity Always thought I would get a Tacoma or Tundra---never thought I would buy a Nissan.
The Titan still has that VK56 V8. That Nissan V8 is very well made, it's a beast of a engine and has been around a long time. I don't doubt the Toyota V6 will be okay, but it's hard to beat that V8 soul.
I personally think the Titan is a way better looking truck, it’s like underdog of the 1/2 ton truck segment.
Titan hands down. Something about that V8 and column shifter!!
I have a 21 Pro-4x. The only things I would want to change?
1. Offer heated and cooled seats WITHOUT the panoramic roof.
2. Program the truck to shut off the rear parking sensors when a trailer is plugged in.
3. Add power extending/folding tow mirrors with power convex adjustment.
4. Wireless charging phone holder.
5. Higher payload.
6. Higher resolution camaras.
7. Less torque management in lower gears.
8. 30+ gallon fuel tank.
Love my Titan!
Whats wrong with the panoramic roof? I think it makes the truck feel bigger.
@kaweka Just not an option I am interested in paying for. Nissan already makes you add the Utility Package ($2,190), and Convenience Package ($3,390) if you want cooled seats. That's fine for the most part, because cooled seats require the leather upholstery included in the Convenience Package. But why do I have to buy a pano roof if I want cooled seats? I would prefer to have standard roof in Arizona. Less failure/leak possibilities, higher payload (about 100 lbs), and would cost less ($1200). Would be nice if Nissan options were al-a-carte like Ford offers.
@@nismomike3182 I agree with you. I checked a 2023 pro4x with sunroof and the ceiling is low. I am not a tall person and my head was almost touching the ceiling when sitting on the back seat. a Nissan dealer in Atlanta has a couple of 2023 Pro4x without the sunroof and they are advertised 8500 below MSRP. It is at 51k currently I think.
I'm with you on 2,6,7 and 8!
on number 2 there is a button to shut off the sensor
Love my 22 Pro4 x, but I wish they would have went with the warrior concept
Going into year 3 with my 20' Pro4X, $57K out the door, I feel I got a lot of truck for the money 👌🏼
What was the apr? 2020 was a good year

Having Owned Nissans, I Prefer The Titan, However They Are Both Nice Trucks. I Don't Like Twin Turbo Anything, Or The Latest B/S Technology! Titan's Proven V8, Excellent Warranty Wins It For Me. Bottom Line, It's Your Money, Drive What You LIKE They're Both Good Trucks!
Never thought I would buy a Nissan truck being a huge Dodge and Chevy guy since I started driving.....but once I saw that Nissan offered a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty on their Titan Pro 4X I jumped all over it, I've not had it for a couple of weeks and I LOVE this truck!
If the titan would get a more modern interior refresh (already looks nice, just a bit outdated) I would put it on par with every other full size truck. I’m a big fan of them.
Funny you say that because Toyota was stuck in the 90s until the recent beta engine Tundra. They took away power and gave you pretty bells and whistles. Then upped the MSRP by nearly 20k

I just purchased a 2023 Titan Pro-4X. I really took my time and test drove several trucks (2022 Sierra AT4, 2023 Tremor, 2023 Ram 1500). After the dust settled i chose the Titan and I’m very glad i did.
The truck is beautiful & has everything i need. Ride quality, fit and finish and power are great! And that engine just sounds amazing. When you factor in that 100K/5yr Bumper To Bumper warranty, the decision was a no-brainer. Plus they threw in free oil changes till 90,000 or 72 months. 👍🏼
I had not thought about the Titan, then something made me start looking at them. Spent a little time researching then bought a new Pro4X. Absolutely love it.
Because of You Ive started to look at the Titan in a different light.. Its a big time runner up in my future truck purchase. Also i like that there are not that many out.. I like that..
Buy one you won't be disappointed. The V8 is a beast.
Try one bud you won’t be disappointed. Owner of a 23 pro4x here.
i think it boils down what you need it to do... both are good in there own ways ... I personally like the feel of the nissan, it's not fancy but it has enough tech to make you happy, very straight forward, easy to use vehicle no crazy searching menus while driving, just push a button and enjoy the ride...
Ben Hardy right again !!
I think I’d go titan. V8 no cylinder deactivation and old school feel. Love it!
Nissan Titan is such an underrated truck
I like the titan of course
I drove the Titan from Las Cruzes NM to Colorado and man, awesome on the highway even with 300 lb out back. 19 mpg all day long.
Got a titan pro4x after researching and comparing for a month. Love it and it's a rare find on the road which I don't mind.
Yeah. It gives you that feeling of uniqueness when you don’t see any titan on the road.
Nothing like a smuuuuuuuuuuuuth, refined SWEEEEEEEEET-sounding V8!!!!
both trucks looks amazing good presentation
I've put 28000 miles on my 2022 Pro 4X. I had one problem early on, Nissan took care of it. I have put 27000 miles on it since in the last 8 months. My only complaint, and a small one at that is. I wish there was better options with the speakers, the Fenders blow. Great Truck, Love the looks, the ride and the interior, and especially the V8!
Agree. Seems like everyone raves on the fender sound system, but it’s basically just ok. I doubt any truck has significantly better though
Are you deaf?
Good comparison Ben. Just picked up a '23 Pro 4X and so far it's great, breaking in nicely at 500 miles and getting 19mpg combined as long as I don't put my foot into it too much. Give the Titan fit and finish a B+(hey, it's a truck) and the interior an A+. No cylinder deactivation and no auto stop/start. GM has their problems with that. Ram is all eTorque. A new replacement of my '18 F-150 5.0 FX4 would have cost 15-20k more. So far I like the Titan better than the F-150. One YT reviewer complained about the orange dash button lighting on the Titan, but I like it. I can see everything clearly including the headlamp setting. On the F-150 I had a heck of a time seeing what the headlamp setting was as the knob and the indicators were so small.
Titan for the win! Simple and it actually looks good.
Just picked up a 2019 nissan titan PR ... no regrets so far.
have a 2021 pro4x and love it in baja storm
Thanks for mentioning the payload capacity for each truck. Most reviewers neglect payload numbers.
Being a die hard Toyota man, I would buy the Nissan over the new Tundra for sure, the new Tundra is so cheaply made and I DONT WANT a V6 engine in my full size truck.
Titan V8 all day. If my 2021 Tundra was ever wrecked I would get a Titan to replace it.
My 21 Tundra was wrecked😢
@@stevieray1828 Sorry to hear that. Was it stolen and wrecked by illegal aliens?
I brought a 2023 Pro 4x base model. Just got rid of my 2020 tundra 1794.
I love my Titan. It's a real world truck. It is what the tundra should have evolved to.
The power train is perfect. I always find myself in the right gear.
what was the OTD out the door price?
@@leeg5678 $58500
im o the fence between 2021 Tundra and 2024 Titan...what was your deicing factor to make the change too Titan? curious to know.
@dalesuddeth5294 I really liked the V8 tundra. I didn't like the v6 tundra models. The service Manager at Toyota told me that they didn't work out all the issues on them yet. Plus the sticker priced jumped up about $10k
If you can get a V8 tundra at a good price with low mileage go for it....
The Titan I got has these little quirks that I can live with. The blower motor makes a little noise and every once in a while the rear the truck feels like it has a delayed 2nd gear downshift. I was told by the lead corporate engineer the the pro 4x models have an inherent issue with the rear settling in when you come to a very slow stop. The SV models don't have this issue.
I really like my titan and how it handles and rides. Both trucks are good. I don't like buying used cars because you never know the history.
I really like Nissan trucks. Test drive the Titan. You can't go wrong with the 100k warranty. And you can't go wrong with a v8 tundra either. You have a hard choice.
BTW THE ZERO GRAVITY SEATS ARE GREAT. I hated long rides in the Tundra but love the comfortable seats in the Titan.
@@leeg5678I paid $52k for my basic equipped 23 pro4x. I also purchased a fully loaded 24 pro4x with all the options for $62k
Wow, Nissan overwhelming getting the love. Nice to see truck lovers still have things in perspective!
Thinking hard about pulling the trigger on a 2023 Titan Pro4X!!!!
One feature the Nissan doesn’t have that’s standard on the TRD Pro: the $20,000 dealer markup!
I would take a 2nd generation tundra over the Titan, however,I would take the Titan over the 3rd generation tundra.Cubic inches still rule💪👍
I love my 23 Nissan but the one thing that I don’t like about it is the cameras. I wish Nissan would upgrade the resolution quality. Then it would be 100%.
I love my 2021 Titan!
I have a 2018 Nissan Titan Pro 4x that I bought new. I only have 36k miles on it. I pull; a 9k lb trailer occasionally(glad I have leaf springs) Never an issue, just change oil and filters.
Ben, i really like your reviews - thank you. Interesting take: “Titan is what new Toyota would have been if Toyota decided to continue v8”.
I have some comments:
-Nissan is known for giving generous discounts $4-6k recently. Toyota usually doesnt give discounts and sometimes adds premium. The price difference is probably closer to $15k.
- I needed a tow vehicle, the only reason for a truck. Owned Toyota SUVs for many years and they were solid, never ever broke down. Naturally went to look at Toyota. Payload of only ~$1300lbs, only D-rated tires. Then look at Titan’s bigger brother Titan XD. I was surprised how luxury it felt. Way more payload, factory E rated tires, tow mirrors, factory gooseneck! As much as i would have loved to get a Toyota, Nissan was a clear step above. Of course, i am talking about Titan XD which you didnt review in this video but the cab, powertrain and features are the same.
That titan is tried and true.. at this point is prob the most American truck on the market right now..they just need to do a small
Redesign and get the interior up to date they will be fine..
Good Video,, I'm Impressed that the Titan remain with the real McCoy V8..
I go for Nissan V8. I love Nissan
Titan!! Except I gravitate to the base models in trucks over the highly optioned counterparts. Besides that V8 sound is awesome.
Quick turnaround Ben. I was actually at Brent Brown while you were filming but you got done before I could say hi.
I’m really a diehard Toyota guy. Wish I could like the new Tundra but it just doesn’t do it for me. I’d take the Titan or an older pre 2022 tundra.
I’ve test drove them both and the Titan feels like a solid truck unlike the new Tundra.
Just hoping the best for the new Tacoma. Going to be a really sad day if they screwed it up as bad.
I had a 17 pro4x and my transmission went out at 80k miles they fixed it under warranty but I hope the 9 speed is more reliable than the 7 speed I had.
Proven V8 over that junk aka V6 with turbos
Say whatever you want...toyota remain the biggest and largest car manufacturer as well as most profit automotive company in the world
Junk? No junk is the crap gm v8’s with class action lawsuits because of so many failures.
The V8 is going away,The future is electric,Sadly.
I like both. From a functionality standpoint, both have insufficient payload for my needs. Sure they can tow 10,000 lbs, but the tongue weight and the driver takes up nearly all of the payload. Of course, the lesser trim levels that are less off-road oriented would provide a bit better payload. If money were not object, I would go for the Tundra. If I were spending my money, I would bank the $10K and get my aftermarket equipment (shell, bed slide, etc.) and buy the Titan.
Less payload due to Moonroof. Still opted for the Moonroof.
I just bought a 2023 titan pro4x and compared it tundra, ram, and gmc. Just makes sense keeping it simple and dependable
Congrats on your titan. I'm looking to purchase the same truck and year, how is the pricing?
@DF-ec9de I bought mine last year March 2023. It's the xd pro 4x, listed at 51k. Reasonable compared to other trucks. If you csn get 0% apr I would wait. I got 4.99% apr and it's like an additional 200 bucks per month in just interest.
@@elpunky1161 Ok great thanks for the info and reply. I plan on dropping 15-20 K down and take it from there. Thanks again
Just bought a 2023 Titan SV midnight edition!! Aftee starting with tundra, then going to RAM, then getting a build for Ford. BUT! The TITAN Prevailed!
Like the Titan design a little more
Went to take delivery of a Tundra and it wouldn't start, had a bad computer. Quickly moved on and went with a Titan XD.
I’d pick the Nissan and keep 10k in my pocket
Ben you mentioned in a previous video that Nissan is not discontinuing the Titan but redesigning instead. Where did you get this info? Haven’t seen Nissan release anything
Sadest part is that Nissan is killing off the Titan in 2024 which is a stupid move, maybe Nissan should have actually tried to promote the truck and seenhow it went.
Titan fold out platform in back is great for taking your dog on road trips
Vehicle prices are way out of control.
V8’s only! Enough said
Nissan looks better. The Toyota just looks to choppy now which makes it look toyish.
Had a 2021 Titan XD Platinum Reserve, and LOVED everything except the fuel mileage, but that's what happens with a big V8. Quality and technology was on par or better than everyone else, the truck was significantly less expensive, and the 5 year, 100K bumper to bumper warranty was FAR in excess of what anyone else was offering. I had to trade it in for a much larger truck (Ram 5500) so we could carry a large camper on the back. I miss it every day, though!
What was your XD MPG experience?
@@joelbabin4365 Ugh- most of the time I was towing a trailer weighing about 5K lbs, and mileage hovered somewhere around 9-11mpg. But even on its own, it rarely got above 13mpg or so. I had to sell it with less than 3k miles on it, so it might have improved as it got more broken in, but maybe not. But that was the worst part- I loved everything else about it, and hey- who buys an XD truck to worry about mileage? I could buy a LOT of fuel with the price difference between that and an F250!
@@majerstud Thanks for the insights... I like so many things about this truck, but have some reservations. Love the capability, but would like to see my non-towing average to be in the 16 range. As good as the V8 is, that truck would be phenomenal with a turbo V6 with 400HP and 500ft/lbs torque, or even better a 3.0L Diesel. Would probably have better mpg's as well.
@@joelbabin4365 It actually had a Cummins diesel option a few years ago, but they dropped because of reliability issues. And Nissan doesn't have the budget of the Big Three to offer multiple engines. Still- you can get whatever you want, as long as you want the V8! Good luck on your quest!
@@majerstud Yep, the 5.0L Cummins... to much of an in between engine in my opinion.. shame it had issues... oh well, the search continues. Hard to replace the reliability of my 5.7L Tundra, except with another of the same generation.
the new tundra looks like a lego block
You should have brought baja color of Titan, which brings out best of its exterior appearance.
That's the one I have...love it
Just bought a new 2023 Titan SV. To me it had a smoother ride than the pro. Pro seemed to be set up for off-road enthusiasts and had a more sporty look. V8 is awesome, good 9 speed tranny, a good ride for a big truck, plus averaging almost 20mpg on 87 octane. Not happy with some of the sensors, particularly the front parking sensor which buzzes only about 3 to 4 feet before a garage door. Also Android auto takes awhile to boot up as does Apple CarPlay. Sometimes you have to play around with the device connections to get results. Feel the headlights could be brighter. However, believe I got it for a decent deal with options I will definitely use along with 0 financing for 60 months and 60 month 100k mile bumper to bumper warranty. For me the towing capacity of 9300+ lbs is sufficient which is a couple of hundred pounds more than the Pro and I get better MPG than the Pro. They are both very capable and easily rival the other major large pickup truck brands.
It’s more like 25,000 difference. The titan Pro4x is 10,000 off msrp plus 0% for 60months. The tundra is like 75,000 or more after the dealer add ons.
Is every dealer offering the 10k off. ? Is it advertised by nissan?
New titan pro 4x is awesome. Love it
I can't understand why Toyota would call there truck and off-road truck and not even offer front recovery hooks.
If long term, I would go for the titan. The drivetrain is proven. In the real world though I won’t get either. I’m banking on my 19 tundra lasting a while.
I had a 202o TRD Off Road with the cloth seats. Loved it. But I totaled it. My bad. I replaced it with the 2021 Platinum Reserve. I must say the seats are the best. The fender system is much better than the JBL. The cameras are fuzzy but good enough. The V* is awesome. I just don't trust the V6 turbo. Plus the Nissan has a 5 year / 100k miles bumper to bumper warranty. No one can touch it and its a lot cheaper. Oh, the back door of the Titan needs to open more and the back seat has less room than my 202 Tundra. But since I don't sit back there I really don't care. Cheers......
Went from an 08 titan to a 23 TRD pro.
Love both trucks, put that tundra in sport mode and hang on, it becomes a different beast.
I would have kept the Titan :/
Just went to the 2023 Pro4x... had the 2022 Tundra and it was very buggy. That Tundra only sounded like that inside the cabin cause it's pumping artificial noise into the cabin.
Titan for so many reasons..proven V-8,
No cylinder deactivation, interior sturdier than the Toyota, no complex hybrid AND turbo small V6, tundra grill is way too large for a what is under the hood..
Titan with it's 100,00 thousand mile warranty and...$10,000 dlls cheaper
DEFINITELY TITAN!!! 👍💪🤙👍💪🤙👍💪🤙
Dude! Nice beard!!!
Wish the Titan had a v6 option. V8 sounds great but I like the option to save a little more on gas.
Gas prices right now is the only reason i probably wouldn’t buy a titan
I like the look and price of the Titan better.
The V8 sound good to me.
Im a Big time Tundra Enthusiast. That be that being said, I'll take the real truck here, the V8 Nissan Titan. Nobody asked for a V6 Tundra. NOBODY. Its a Camry with a bed that sounds like a lawnmower and looks like Hulk Hogan's Face. Shameful
I'm amazed at how much of that Titan looks like my 2005 Titan.
Nice one! have you done Tacoma vs Frontier yet?
I had an Armada few years ago, and yes, Nissan drive is so smooth! But after about 5 years with it, transmission started having lots of issues. so, kind of vias against Nissan now.. Any reported issues on both?
Nissan v8 need synthetic oil every 5k and Nissan trans/differentials/transfer case/Radiator fluid every 20k (if not towing or heavy duty use, then change these fluids every 30k). That's trans will shift smoothly to 1+ million miles. Guaranteed
I’d take the Nissan for sure. ❤
I'm a diehard toyota fan but I'm leaving the brand after 2023. I'm a pre-Renault Nissan fan as well. I own 93 300ZX TT, GX460, and a Tesla. I've owned almost every toyota and lexus models but that will be changing going forward. I would choose the Titan over the new Tundra/Tacoma at this point. TFL tacoma broke on mild offroading. Most likely transfer case is broken on the new Tacoma. Nissan Frontiers are good trucks that are overlooked too. Nissan truck prices are reasonable unlike the new toyota products.
Tundra TRD Pro test drive opinion 'I think I like it!!'
Can you do a video on a ford f 150 vs a toyota tacoma please and thank you
@Ben as you are aware, Nissan is going Turbo w/ the next Gen Armada. I’m not happy they are doing away with the Titan 😢, I think they should keep it!
I’m a Toyota Fan and after a lot of thought … I’d have to go with the Titan while the v8 is still here 🤷♂️
I like the Titan!
Even though I have a 19 ram 1500 with the 5.7L V8, no etorque, I'd choose the Titan simply because of the V8, I'm not a fan of the twin turbos for any truck.
2022 pro 4x..... LOVE IT!
We won't know about the longevity on each until years and miles down the road. Having to replace two turbos out of warranty will be very costly.
No under rear seat storage on Hybrid Tundras. I know you know that but how could I not be know it all and correct you 😂
The Tundra's exhaust is augmented in the iForce. Standard V6 is not. I have the SR5 and it's quiet.
If the titan had port fuel injection to go with its direct injection I'd be very interested in one.
I run an oil catch can in my Titan. No worries about keeping the motor clean.
Titan looks and sounds great with the V8
Nissan gets so much hate because of the small cars, but that v8 engine is the most reliable engine out their right now
I've had a Titan since 2007. Then a 2019 Black addition and then the 2024 Pro 4X beast. The Tunda lost a lot of guys with the little girl V6.
