- 1979 the 4 skins opened for the dead kennedys,but there drummer at the time never showed up so jello biafra played the drums,,,,4 skins where a crazy young punk band from portland oregon ,with mark bar,Phil meanie and eddie jetson and the great sam henry on drums....sam played with the wipers,eddie started a band in san francisco called condemned to death,phil moved to new york ,,,and mark bar stayed in portland and played in many great bands.....video by Mike Lastra.

I clicked on the thumbnail because I thought it was THE 4Skins. Then I read the description: ,,4 skins where a crazy young punk band from portland oregon...". Never knew there was another band with that name. But this makes more sense than Jello playing for a UK skinhead band.

The 4-Skins from England at one stage had Paul Swain from Skrewdriver on guitar I was like Jello what? Lol yeah obviously another band I never knew existed. Love Jello and the old 4-Skins from England too though.
They were also members of the British Movement
The first wave of punk had an apolitical version of Skrewdriver. One member had all his teeth knocked out by Teddyboys.

This band only was around for one year. Portland Oregon. Phil Meanie the bassplayer died in New York in the 80s. Mark Baar lives in L.A.now.
I was the singer for a portland band called ICE 9. are bass player died in a car accident so I started the four skins. We where a portland Oregon punk rock band. we were only around about a year. Then I moved to New York , Then to San Fransico .Where I started Condemned to Death

Eddie's earlier band Ice-9 gets more attention. Ice-9 lasted much longer and was one of Portland's first punk bands and had several recordings.
We where around for only a short time..I also sang for ICE 9 are bass player was killed in a car accident ..so my friends and I start four Skins for fun...jello has been a good friend of mine for most of my life, say what you want, but he supports punk music around the world...
So you know that thing about musicians having at least a passable ability on instruments they don't play... yeah well... Jello Biafra proves that's absolute bullshit
