I love how in tune you are with each other, and to hear how you clicked on so many levels of common interests and future goals. My mum is Aussie, from Melbourne, my dad is Canadian, lived in New Zealand for a few years and they met in Canada. I grew up with an Aussie accent. I was asked many times if I was Irish, lol . Advice for the bilingual kid thing: I suggest that maybe you should have your kids be around the German speaking side of the family often… that’s how I became a bilingual! They’ll pick it up much more quickly with several people speaking in German instead of just one parent, and it will also expand their vocabulary since different people use different words.
American here that just got into your content and love it! I lived in Brisbane for a few years and it was amazing. Can’t recommend enough. My girlfriend and I just started learning to dance for fun. While I’m very very much a beginner, y’all inspire us.

Loved this video! Just food for thought - one of my best friends is german and australian and speaks both languages to perfection. She grew up here in Australia but went to a german international primary school and speaks english at home but her and her siblings speak german just with her mum.

Hey, ich bin zweisprachig aufgewachsen. Damit ein Kind gut zweisprachig aufwächst, braucht es ein Muster. Zum Beispiel hat meine Mutter mit mir nur Plattdeutsch und mein Vater mit mir nur Hochdeutsch gesprochen. So habe ich die Sprache mit der Person verbunden, aber damit das funktioniert muss das konstant so sein.
Um ein Kind multilingual aufzuziehen kann man das auch so machen, das man mit ihm jeden Tag in einer anderen Sprache spricht. Nur muss hier wieder ein Muster vorliegen. Zum Beispiel, am ersten Tag Englisch, Tag 2 Deutsch, Tag 3 Spanisch und dann wieder von vorne.
Ich hoffe ich konnte ein wenig, bei der Frage wie man ein Kind bilingual erziehen kann helfen
