That she does. I know this from personal experience. She donated to a shelter I was in for foster kids. Who don't have homes to go to. She gave many preasants to all of us. How I found out was the lady who was in charge. Allowed me to read the paperwork. I started crying she was already one of my favorites.

You nailed it here, Rose. Both of them are not only truly gifted singers, but also skilled narrators and storytellers. They both have a legendary knack for cutting deep into the root of the lyric, letting all the pain and anger bleed all over them; then they turn that lyrical anguish into raw vocal passion for the fans to lap up.

Thank you for doing this song. When filming, martina got burns on her back and shoulders durring the house burning scene. However she never stopped filming and never told anyone she was standing too close once she realized it because she knew they only had one shot to film that scene and the house was already lit up. That shows you how dedicated she is to messages she beleives in.

I grew up singing every word to this, Concrete Angel, God’s Will, Broken Wing, This zone’s For The Girls and things like Goodbye Earl from The Chicks, and as a kid, I had NO IDEA how new it was to get Anthems like this by women artists in Country that spoke up about these REAL issues!! I had sang all of these and more and my parents LOVED when my best friend and I wanted to do Goodbye Earl for the school talent show when we were like 8 and how we did not comprehend how there could be anything “inappropriate” or “controversial” about a song speaking up about something that NEEDS to be spoken about and shoved into people’s faces to get them to acknowledge things, become aware of the warning signs and try to help with resources and donations and a safe place or at least getting a friend to a shelter far away from the abusive person they’re trying to escape from! Yes, these things are difficult to talk about but that doesn’t mean they should be ignored because they do happen all over the place! I really appreciate you being so passionate and real with us on songs like this and having the hotline up the whole time too, Billy! I found Rascal Flatts’ Why song through you yesterday and you not only kept the hotline number and website up for people needing mental health help but spoke about it SO passionately about how you want people to live and it just hit me in all the feels on a particularly tough day! So, thank you for sharing these incredible songs and speaking up on these serious topics in a heartfelt, passionate and meaningful way!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I have unsubscribed to SO many YT content creators since getting out of the hospital right before the pandemic hit because so many of them were coming across as more and more fake and staying in their own little bubbles and not acknowledging what was going on in the world, and I have to say that even though I only discovered your channel a month ago, I am glad I subscribed and I love the way you keep it real! Thank you! You don’t know who needs to see these kinds of videos or how much your heartfelt reactions and genuine words of compassion might help, but I assume that you and your videos have helped me get through MANY awful days of depression this past month alone since I found your channel! You made a difference when you served in our Army to protect us and now you’re STILL making a difference in an entirely new way, and I am just very, VERY grateful I was led to your channel at the right time! 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Keep doing what you’re doing because you ARE reaching people!! As well as this song brought to light just what some wives went through during the marriage to an abusive man as it was not proper for a woman to reveal that there was anything wrong with their marriage as well just deal with it.. I can also recall that when this song came out that a woman who was being abuse after seeing this video had the courage to deal with her husband after she made sure that her kids were gonna be safe with her parents Killed her husband and herself by poisoning the drinks they had that night. I've seen it first hand ive seen people turn a blind eye and ignore what was going on ..... she freed alot of people with this song ........love shouldnt hurt....everyone deserves love and happiness

The first time I heard this song, it totally resonated with me. My dad was a violent drunk abusive in every way. I turned 18 & was amazed I was still alive & so was my mom. I was sure I’d never see my next birthday let alone my 18th. Martina goes after the heavy hitters with lighter ones in the mix. If you haven’t heard Christmas Shoes by Newsong or Blessings by Laura Story Or What it’s Like by Everlast or Emcee One’s I forgive You. Fighter by Jamie Grace. What Faith Can do by Kutless. Mr. Mom by Lonestar. Everything to me by Mark Schultz. You should check them out. Ok done for now. 😉

Songs like this are why I love Country Music. She puts so much into this song and her vocals are incredible. Yeah Billy, a lot of her songs are PSAs but we’re all better off for it. What other genre and its listeners want to spread real life issues and help bring forth healing and/or help? Not many Bro.

I highly recommend Martina McBride - "Where Would You Be". I played that song on repeat; crying 'til I couldn't catch my breath. It wasn't just my relationship that was falling out from beneath my feet, my kids' lives were being unfairly altered and there was nothing I could do to stop or fix it - and THAT hurt the most...because I didn't want them to "come from a broken home"...like I did. Where she sings "me", I sang "us". It's been over 15 years; time didn't heal any wounds - it only left big, ugly, tender scars on their hearts and in their lives.

My oldest daughter left this world on July 4th and left her 11 month old son. My husband and I raised him until he was 6. Our youngest daughter has been working on adopting him for the last 3 years.
She celebrates the 4th of July because of her sons (hers and her sisters son), but it's a hard holiday for all of us.
I was with family this year while they celebrated, but I still wasn't feeling it and it's been 8 years.
Honestly, I hate the 4th of July, but I do my best be to positive for my kids and grandkids.

I read a kind of poem the other day saying he bought me flowers today. The flow was that he bought me flowers today to say he was sorry for…. Then at the end it said everyone bought me flowers today and placed them on my grave. Violence is so dangerous and yes please make every effort to get out.

Thank you for your message to people who have been abused and for putting the information for help up on your video. They did not have places to go or very many places to get help when I went through this. I survived and I'm a better person for it. Growing up abused led to marrying an abusive man. It took me a long time to figure out how to get out. I finally found out I was worth more than the beatings. Now I try to help others. It makes my heart so happy to see a young man with your heart. Again thank you and many blessings to you and yours.
