    The train base isn't totally new. It was released in last year's 60282 fire truck set, singly, as the basis for the trailer. The 60336 freight train will use two of these pieces for the car transporter. Each of the passenger train coaches will use two, for a total of four in the 60337 set. Effectively two of that part will replace the single 6x34 depressed-center train base that I'd assume is now retired. The "new" piece is 6x16, making two of them back-to-back two studs shorter than the old 6x34. However, because it is using two "halves", the builder may insert any number of studs in-between to widen the carriage as long as you'd like (albeit there may be a problem going around the curves if it's too long).

    • @kexysbrickbuilts
      @kexysbrickbuilts  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you for this information about the base plate. I didn't know this base as it was only used in this one set and I don't own this set. Unfortunately, this base plate is also not stored in stud.io. The length of the wagons does not matter to me, as I use different radii that are larger than R40.

    It's not my favorite train just because of the overall look. I think it is leaned more toward younger audiences, but since there are not many huge, molded pieces, it opens new possibilities for customization. The overall length of the train is not bad, but it could be longer for realism. The roof could use some changing as well, maybe something like the HE (Horizon Express) roof with the use of 2x4 slopes? I think I will create a MOD of this train to suit my liking.
