  • This is a video about the new 2022 Train Station from LEGO® (set number 60335). The train is expected to be released on June 1st, 2022 in Europe an on August 1st, 2022 in the US. The video includes animated versions of the train station built digitally with Stud.io. There is no guarantee that the train station is 100% correctly built, as it was only created based on the photos that have appeared so far.

    I like the modular road plate system, but I absolutely agree that it shouldn't be included in so many City sets. Each set should focus on the building, with attachment points for builders who want to add the road plates separately. Also, I am definitely going to make some of the wonderful modifications you showed off!

      Thank you for your nice comment. I fully agree with you. You can think what you want about the new road system, whether you like it or not, but it really shouldn't be used in that many sets. I like your idea that the sets are prepared for this, but you can decide for yourself whether to buy it or not. I am currently working on the expansion of the new station. Wait till you see this, this is going to be first class.🤣🤣

    This station really does need some MOC addon... and for me to say that as a purist vanilla collector... The thing is this station is too sterile with the mint and white colours. Usually the stations are either yellow or red. with a full mini restaurant experience. That is what this station lacks. Life.

      @kexysbrickbuilts  Před 2 lety +2

      In real life, stations are probably never as clean and sterile as this station. You're probably right. Nevertheless, I think that the station has potential to make something decent out of it. The color scheme actually doesn't bother me. Is something different and fits with the other LEGO sets from this year. Lime green and dark turquoise is apparently really hip at LEGO.

      Make it 3 modules high 2 wide. You could make endless combinations. Buy multiple sets. Swap the minifig parts to have different families. And you have something great. And it would sell like hot bread

    I love your version! I think it looks way better than the official set! I think Lego could have made the station in better way. They should have made the station bigger so more train cars fit in the platform. I really think that the truck and all the road plates things are not necessary for the station. Instead, they can separate the crossing and truck thing to a different set. this way the crossing can be bigger and more detailed, while giving a cheaper option to customers. I was pretty disappointed when the station came out, but I think I will buy the train because I thought it is very interesting when I saw your train video. Thank you for creating this amazing video!

    So many years fans waited for a new train station and LEGO simply releases a boring platform with a building façade and rather puts more parts into accessories like the bus + Unimog (that could have been separate sets), a useless portable toilet and the mandatory road plate (that has become a real nuisance).
    Luckily videos like yours show what could have been done properly. But I'm tired of always having to improve and invest even more in LEGO's spartanic CITY sets, which lately have become so poor that I rather buy second hand sets from the 4-digit era.

    • @kexysbrickbuilts
      @kexysbrickbuilts  Před 2 lety

      I can understand your opinion about the station. It's really little what you get for your money. But I like the idea of a modern train station and I actually really like the color scheme, even if it's far from reality. Show me a train station so clean and smooth. ;-) At the moment, thank God, I feel like adapting the sets accordingly. But if things go on like this, I'll probably lose interest in it too.
      Some of the older city sets from the 4-digit era are really much better, but you have to be lucky to get sets that are in good condition at a fair price.

    It looks okay, but not my favorite. I feel that the colors are too bright and not coherent. Colors such as sand green, tan, dark red, or perhaps brown would have given it a sense of realism, but again this set is aimed toward a younger audience. I like your modification of adding depth and detail. The stock set looks basically like a facade and is not very appealing. Maybe if "The LEGO Group" added a back wall it would be a bit nicer. I am happy about the other details that have been included in the set. E.G., curved tree, bike rack, posable lights, etc. The Rail-Rider does not look bad at all, but it is kind of strange that a car/small truck is wider than a train in my opinion... Trains in Europe are about 9.4-9.6 feet in width while American locomotives exceed 10. An average car is about 6 feet in width, so it doesn't really make sense. Overall, the train station and accessories are decent, but $100 is an unfortunate price for a set lacking so much detail. However, I enjoyed your review. If you decide to modify this set it will likely change my point of view on 60335. Thanks for the video.

      @kexysbrickbuilts  Před 2 lety +2

      Hi Alex, thank you very much for your comment. I actually don't have the problem with the colors. I don't know if you know my Marin Hotel, because I also use dark turquoise. I like the color and I actually think the combination with lime green is okay. But tastes are different and as you said... the target group are children. As an adult, you prefer to build your own station or modify it until there is nothing left of the original. I agree with you that the original is nothing more than a façade. If there was a back wall, there would be no more space inside. But this has developed over the years and houses are becoming narrower and narrower. I also think there are some nice extras, but could be more. As for the scale.. I do not think we need to discuss that. This is going wrong in the entire LEGO world. That's why I'm gradually rebuilding my trains to 8wide. It just looks much more realistic. The US price is definitely way too high... not to say ridiculously expensive. The European price is also too high, but we will certainly get 20% discount on some online shops from the first day. I will take my time until the release and maybe build a real station out of it ;-) Thank you again for sharing your opinion. KeXy

      Tastes are different... I think you just have to make something better out of it yourself.

    haha, this is not even a building. my old lego train station had to offer more. I miss the old lego times. v9 was the best. this building is for me a joke...

      Yes.. you can only use it as a base for a real train station. I'm already busy with massive expansion work. Basically, I like the color scheme and the style.. it just needs to get a lot more done on the thing.

      You are right with that. But you know, I don't want to design my own building. I want to buy a set and then build to relax. I don't want to buy more stuff to finished it. It would be nice if, lego at least will sell a "add on" (so you can make a complet building out of that). I am sorry for my bad English :(

      Thank you for your positive comment. I'm glad you like my video. I agree with you, LEGO could have saved the road plates, level crossing and vehicles and should have put the parts in the station. Many fans would probably like that better. It would actually be time to bring a nice level crossing to the market again. Every railway layout also needs a level crossing. ;-) I will buy the station twice and try to build my version of it.
