- This is a review of the 2022 LEGO City Train Station (60335). It's been 6 years since we last had a LEGO train station in the form of the 60050 Train Station. Was it worth the wait? You bet it was! This is a fantastic set! In fact, it's so good my kids took it to play with before I could review it and misplaced one of the minifigures. Little stinkers! But it was worth it watching them set up the LEGO trains and add in their own station LEGO Moc to complement this one.

i personally would love if Lego were to sell us individual parts of the trains like extra passenger coaches and cargo cars just like they did with the train tracks
Like they used to in the hay-day of LEGO! Would be amazing. And smaller sets like crossings/ Love that they used to sell mail cars for the passenger trains. I feel like trains are an important part of LEGO's heritage that is really being missed.
@@GJBricks same and im currently working on a few custom projects to help me start my collection of Lego trains like a custom fuel tanker and a flatbed as well as a plan to make a custom horse transport
I guess we shouldn’t expect too much from LEGO. They already have improved the Star Wars sets and it might take a few more years for the train sets to catch up but I think this set is a good start! I remember seeing the train MOCs in the early 2000s and it was up to LEGO AFOLs to inform LEGO about what we want instead of marketing data! I think that trailer and truck would be parked in a small yard with a switch off the mainline near a railway office. In the United States Hi-rail vehicles enter and exit the railway from a large crossing. Really good video of this on CZcams.
I work in rail and in the US we call the maintenance on-track vehicles "high-rail."
I like this review you showed visuals and gave your opinion it's many things like that, that makes up a good review and also I ordered this the other day and I wanted to hear your opinion because in your reviews you do a really good job I really wanted the set and I finally got to order it I'm really gonna like this set because I have 2 other trains
I believe the big gap is for when kids place a curve right before the platform. Since some trains has quite the overhang that can reach many studs outside the rail when they turn.
That makes sense. I shall have to test that one!
Love the correct side of the road!
Got to be done! I do it to my Speed Champions cars too 😉
17:20 oh no, not a missing child
🤣
Still haven’t found it
I like it!!! Defenately on my wishlist, not really high because of the price and I MOCed my own station for my city. Great review!
Amazing review! Your passion really comes through, thank you so much for making this!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. You getting this set?
@@GJBricks definitely. Major train geek here.
i just got this set. I love how the the toilet paper roll is empty, so you know the minifig who left the pool had a little problem. lol
I love the Bus! Perfect!
It’s is one of their best if not the best! Think I need to make some in other colours.
Such a great set! Those one must not miss. Nice review.
Absolutely. Glad I’ve got it. Need to modify it a bit to make it perfect.
That’s a pretty great set, although I’m a simple man and was sold by the portaloo alone. Everything else is a bonus! Great video, and balanced AFOL/play set focus!
Ha ha! It is a great toilet build 🤣
Great review. I’m sure they do it to minimize the cars getting caught on the station because of vibration if they are going past really fast. What they should do is at least build a slide out ramp for when the train stops at the station. Like the ramps they have for ships/docks
Agreed. Someone pointed out it was for the curves so it doesn’t hit the platform as it comes in.
A bug, portaloo and modern design! plus some new minifig parts! It's a great package! I wish Lego make a train station with gates and platform but it will end up too expensive.
There's definitely scope to do more. I wish they'd sell smaller sets like a crossing and a bigger station, shed, etc. So much opportunity!
This is a great looking set. I want to get one
Don't blame you. What's your favourite part of the set?
@@GJBricks I don't know if I have a favorite part but I love the bus, the maintenance truck and Porta potty. The station 🚉 looks nice and modern with all the glass windows in it and all the track pieces are great. The track cross over looks good too. Only thing I'd say is bad is the huge gap between platform and track, that will have to be modified
That looks like Tiago's bus!
Very similar! Not the same though but definitely similarities. Must be hard for the LEGO designers these days given how much great work there is in the community and publicly available to see.
It's a great set! Love the bus! I bought and built it a couple weeks ago and I don't even have a train yet (wasn't actually going to lol). I put the bus driver seat on the 'right' side, but totally forgot about the boom gates until I saw this video 😂
Ha ha! It’s the little things. I realised just before I did the video. And I will be fixing the bus later!
I also want to put the bus driver seat on the right side because I am from Hong Kong! I purchased 2 buses today and also with some parts to make it like a Hong Kong Citybus colourway.
I believe the station platform is so far from the train to allow the train side doors to open. Since the new train has a base that is lower in the middle, the doors would hit the platform if the train was closer to the platform.
You would be correct! I'm guessing the older trains had the same issue. Imagine trying to board those trains in real life! You literally be jumping across.
Just a heads up - since lego OBVIOUSLY meant for people who purchase this to also purchase the new train set, the lackluster "platform" that comes with the train just happens to fit perfectly on the end of this station and makes it longer. Hmm, coincidence? lol - lego marketers are geniuses... they must be paying them a fortune, hence the 189.99 pricetag on what should be a 139.99 train set. :/
Ha ha! That does make sense but you’d think they’d make that more obvious. I’d check and do an update video but I already parted my platform out. And yes, any excuse to charge more. That being said, they always have a platform with the passenger train even if there isn’t a station out. Did that work with the previous station?
@@GJBricks Well, the base structure of the platform that comes with the train is the exact same, and when put together with the station make one solid base. I'll take a pic tomorrow and show you what I mean.
As for previous ones, I am not sure. I have the 60197, but didn't get a station, or even know if there was one put out at the same time as the train set was. Might be interesting to check and see.
im gonna get this when it releases for my train!
Is it not out where you are?
@@GJBricks no when it comes out ill get it
Can't find it anywhere and they left it out of the June 2022 catalogue.
It sucks how the release has been done
@@GJBricks Just bought it today. They only sell this set in official Lego Store stores.
couldn't you build the bus to have the doors on the wrong side too
I will be 😃
And then I look at the car and wonder if it can be “speed championed”. Lol. A challenge worth trying?
0:22 where is the picture?
Doh!
