Early childhood education in Japan: My nursery is different (Learning World: S3E35, 2/3)

  • These children enrolled at a pre-school in Kyoto, Japan, come from families where both parents are working. Many children spend most of their day and part of the night at this center due to their parents' long working hours. The children are involved in various learning activities that help in their overall development.
    This school has found a novel way to involve parents in their children's' education. Parents are encouraged to make traditional Japanese lunches for their children to bring along. The founder of the program believes that this approach helps transmitting both parents' love while their children are at nursery.

    I’m Japanese and my mom get up early (By 5:30pm at the latest)to make bento for me almost every day for 15 years.
    Thanks to her, I’m healthy.
    I can’t thank her enough.
    I want to do the same as her if I have a child :) 🍱🍙

      i woke up whenever and the minute my mom saw me wake up, she'd pass me a glass of strawberry milk and sit me in front of the tv as she secretly went off to work. i'd sit there and wait for my dad to wake up, and once he did if i hadn't already eaten eggs he'd make me cereal and change the television channel from spongebob to some documentary. this is coming from a female american who isn't much healthy but only because.... well, it's america.

    I wonder, how did the Japanese moms manage their time to make those bentos everyday without fail?

    • @Yogirliej4dee
      @Yogirliej4dee Před 7 lety +11

      eLLa eLyana I heard that making bentos is a skill moms need to know since they have no choice. No one eats sandwiches or Mac and cheese there. The competition between moms is harsh and if your kids lunch doesn't look as good the kids will make fun of their classmate.

    Yeah no seriously Kyoto is two syllables, Kyoh-toh, not koyowtow, not koyowtah. learning the correct pronunciation is showing respect.

    Why did the narrator say "Inside Koyoto"? It's "Kyoto" not "Koyoto"
