    Today's Topic:
    If you’re going to mix, at least stay within the same nail system.(i.e. hard gels with hard gel, Soft gels with soft gels, liquid & powder products, with liquid and powder products, and well you get the picture.
    I get it, you’re a creative first. So am I
    But I also totally understand their perspective and I support and understand the manufacturer. If they didn’t caution you about mixing because of decreased wear and just encountering problems all together, can you imagine all of the different questions (and the amount of them) they would get because stuff is not mixing well!?
    They don’t have a cheat sheet listing all of the different combinations nail stylist can possibly concoct. So you can kind of feel for them too right?
    We’re going to look at hard products vs soft nail products and go from there to decide what typically “plays well” generally speaking. When you’re ready, hit play.

    Thanks for clarifying that Korean bottle gels work well with Japanese soft potted gels! I think someone else mentioned in the comments that they weren't sure if Korean gels are usually true gels or gel polishes but in my experience they've all performed very much like true gel and have been compatible with other soft gel products. I mainly use Gracia (which now that I think about it may technically be made in Japan but seems more popular in Korea, particularly the bottle range but they also offer potted base and top coat), The Gel, DGel (the pumping soak-off builder), Diami and From The Nail. Diami also does great medium and long full cover extensions that are flexible but strong.

    To put soft gel like Kokoist over a hard gel extension from another brand, do we need to finish file the extension + protein bond + Kokoist base coat before going into Kokoist color gel?

    I tried to ask Zillabeau if their korean gels were gel polish or true gels and they said they weren't sure. how can one find out?

    • @PaolaPonceNails
      @PaolaPonceNails  Pƙed 2 lety

      If they have a lot of dilution ingredients, and less resin it may wear more like a gel Polish. I don’t think that is the case with Zillabeau products though. They are high quality more on the ‘true gel’ side.

    Can two different pearl powders or chrome powders be mixed? Have you done any videos on mixing different pearl/chrome powders?

      @@PaolaPonceNailsand by "mix" I mean both (1) putting different chrome colors on different nails, and (2) layering different chrome combinations on 1 nail. 😃😁

    Hey Paola! I recently purchased the leaf gel sanding free + base gel and wanted to know if that’s a good base gel to start off with? I’ve never used soft gel before but as soon as I saw sand free I was like I need this! lol so when I’m ready to remove my mani I don’t need to sand the top layer at all? I just immediately soak them in acetone? That’s the part that confused me, and does it only work if I’m using all leaf gel products on the nail?

    • @PaolaPonceNails
      @PaolaPonceNails  Pƙed 2 lety +1

      Sanding-free base refers to no buff or file prep of your nails prior to applying the gel.
      For a faster removal it is always better to thin the gel down a bit before soaking-off.

      Thank you for answering, I didn't know it's going to be free! I was saving up for the paid MGN course since I couldn't make it last month, should I take the Leafgel training instead? It was the brand I was going with on the list of materials.

      Hmmm
 I think they have one in Japan, but because the American market is more acquainted with bottle, they go with that I think.
