I first came across ISB in 1970. when I met the guy I would later marry - and divorce! H didn't drive so I spent a few years driving around Scotland when they were touring. We saw them in large venues, Edinburgh and small village halls. I remember an early gig. I ass in my first year at Edin University, in a big theatre on the Bridges. I thought the theatre was on fire as I could smell something funny. My boyfriend was hissing at me to shut up. Naïve fresher hadn't smelled hash before. Everyone as dancing in aisles and having a ball, Mike's smile lit p the whole place. Musicianship excellent, what happened to Malcolm Le Maistre? How many instruments did they play? Brilliant.

Some viewers may be interested to know that Rose Simpson (here playing organ) has written a book about her time with the band. It looks like it will be an important record and reflection on those times. There will be a "virtual" book launch here facebook.com/groups/1530562813829624/ on Sunday 13th December at 14.00 GMT.

It's a great read! Such a special viewpoint from the inner sanctum of one of the most amazing artistic enterprises of the 20th century.

@@slowuncle Hi jergens. It is indeed. In fact it was better than I could have hoped even when some of it makes for slightly uncomfortable reading. I thought the best thing about it was her ability to invoke the magic of the time and still maintain a critical, self-aware stance too. She writes so well also as one might expect from a lierary academic!
