I did a huge stationary declutter last year- I had two large drawers full of various stationary, I was a big time hoarder of cute stationary! I was getting a monthly stationary subscription box, which I have since stopped. I gave all my decluttered, never used stationary (pretty much all of it!) to my sister-in-law who is still in school so her and her school mates got lots of cute new stationary, and I was able to make make space and know my unused bits and pieces have gone to a home where they will be loved and used 🥰I can definitely relate to being a pen snob 😂💫
Oh I love that! I bet they were so excited to get a bunch of new stationery. I don't know about you, but when it comes to cute stationery I love to buy it, but I hate to use it because I always feel like, "This letter isn't important enough for such cute paper" 😂 Is that weird?
What I do is put the stuff for the future when I move in boxes and put them in a place I don't really need to be. It's empty space out of sight if I put stuff there it's not gonna bother anyone. Currently still going through the attic and try to get my mom to deal with her stuff. I just move things more together and tackle certain categories with my partner. He is great in organizing things in boxes and make it fit real nice. I tend to just throw things in and don't play tetris. We are currently working on future kids stuff and my sentimental items. Games I loved as a child, decorations etc. I kept a lot for the future kids and a second opinion is nice to have. Also me having years of experience and less of a messy attic than it used to be it really changes a lot. Still getting rid of things even though I started decluttering the attic when I was 15 almost 16 and currently 24 years old.
I think I'm going to take that advice. I could move a lot of stuff out of the way if I did that. Your attic declutter resonates with me so much. I've also been decluttering the attic for years (it never seems to improve!) and I find myself saving things for future children too. I think it's nice to hold onto those sentimental items.

Pens are my nemesis. My husband brought a huge box of random pens into our marriage, and we are still working our way through them. I’ve gone through them all and got rid of the broken ones twice but they just.keep.going!

For the ball point pens, gel pens and basically pens that have ink but don't work. Dip the nib in hot water for a while and that should help it unblock (because the ink at the tip has dried out) and it should start working soon. Don't throw away pens that can be saved, it hurts the environment. If you really don't want working pens give them to charity shops, schools, or like places like shelters and such.

Hi, professional organizer here. Love your declutter videos! A tip I use for “just in case items”: 20/20 rule. If you ever did need the item, could you replace it in less than 20 min and for less than $20? If so, let it go! Hope this helps!

You did great. I love stationary so so much and I'm a pen snob too 😂🤣. If I'm going to be writing I want to be writing with a good pen that writes nicely. I definitely need to do this with my stationary. I must have at least 50 notebooks 🙈.

Thank you! I totally agree. I can't cope with those really flimsy light pens and I'm left-handed so I need something smudge proof or the ink gets everywhere 😂

..... if you're a stationery hoarder.... what does that make me!? I subscribed to about 5 stationery boxes during 2019/2020.... I've stopped now, but only because of all the new import duties being imposed by Ireland this coming year.
😂 I've never let myself get a stationery subscription box, but they really call to me!
