Jesse, I picked up my Model 3 last Friday. I have been watching you both from the beginning of your channel. I am now a Tesla owner! I have FSD for 30 days but every time I use it I turn it off because "I" want to drive. Good work, love the show.

Longtime and multiple Tesla owner here. Yes, getting your first Tesla or being new to Tesla is like playing that one new shiny toy you’ve been wanting for Christmas. All you want to do is find every excuse to play with it as much as possible. But like everything else the excitement does fade a bit after awhile and then you’ll finally want more. That’s where all the extra features like self driving and speed boost come in. Specially once you start going on road trips more often.
Zac and Jesse, thank you for all that you do, my entire deep dive into the EV world started with your channel back in 2019.

As long as I'm on the subject of pronunciation... this X/Twitter handle is a reference to the Unix/Linux command _"sudo"_ (pronounced just like "pseudo") which allows you to "do" (execute) a command with "super-user" privileges, without having to log in as _root_ first.
Normally you would use the _"su"_ command to assume root privileges, and then you'd use the _"exit"_ command to return to your normal user status. But _"sudo"_ allows you to skip those extra steps if you just want to execute one or two commands. Also, it will time-out if you don't use it for a while, which helps to protect you from doing something stupid with that much power... ;-)
Anyway, I think the preferred pronunciation would be to put the emphasis on the first syllable: "SOO-doh-er"

Thailand manufactures a large number of light trucks every year and can be an attractive place to invest. The Cybertruck tour of Thailand could be a precursor to a visit by Elon.
Tesla also had no plans for bidirectional charging. It was only Ford and GM saying they were going to do it when Tesla added to Cybertruck.

The section about solar growth and the IEA (starting around 23:00) reminds me a lot of presentations from Tony Seba. Most people, including big agencies like IEA, grow accustomed to small linear changes and fall into the trap of assuming things will generally continue as they always have. Disruptions are rare, so when they happen, very few people see them coming. The "responsibility" of the large institutions only makes this worse since their biggest worry is sounding alarmist and being wrong on the other end. As a result, most miss the boat. Nice opportunity for those who understand disruption, understand exponential growth patterns, and can see teh value of the technology.
I always describe them as the "Seba Annual Flatline Charts"

I think the number one thing that the general population just doesn't get about Tesla besides the whole range anxiety and battery degradation misinformation campaign is the fact that they are so safe.
Someone please tell Butch that the 737 has been having those problems. Not the 747. The only major 747 flaw was the explosive central fuel tank, which destroyed a number of aircraft including TWA flight 800, over 20 years ago.

Did you purchase the New Tesla Universal charger ? and whats required to back feed your house ? Does it wire direct to your gateway or main panel ?
So the one of the primary reason I paid for FSD was the promise that the hardware would be upgraded if it needed to be, along with a leap of faith that Tesla would eventually solve FSD and that it would be approved by regulators. What happens if it my 2022 Model Y can’t run FSD?
Thats not happening, Your Model Y can run FSD right now. What they were talking about was the training hardware not the hardware in the car itself.

4:23 Upgrade hardware??? Elon said a while back that there would be no upgrade path from HW3 to HW4, because it would be prohibitively expensive. Pretty sure he was including camera upgrades and such. I suppose Tesla could design a new set of boards to replace just the FSD computer that could be used in place of inference and control system in the otherwise HW3 Tesla. It may be part of the reason for rechristening HW4 to AI5, as that promotes thinking about the Inference and Control hardware and software separately from the rest of the systems in the car, to the end that maybe there will be a version of AI5 or later board that can replace the corresponding function on HW3 Teslas, perhaps with little additional accommodation for things like power supplies.
Well, we can dream. And I certainly wish that Tesla may be thinking in those terms that, after all, eventually my HW4 computer may be needing an upgrade, as well.
Bruv not 747s, it’s the 737Max. 37s are 2 engine, single aisle, narrow body aircraft. 47s are 4 engine, double decker, 2 aisle, wide body aircraft.

There is a supercharger that they said that should be done 3 quarter of 2023. This should be in Wikieup AZ, how can I know when will be done.
There is pressure in the market for all vehicles to be bi-directional. Farley said the 3rd gen platform of Ford vehicles will all have it in 2026. That all makers should have it. Tesla will have it in other existing vehicles 'in 2 years' besides the CT. Has Tesla started to allow owner with powerwalls use it? So far it has been only those without TMK?

The IEA's habit of underestimating solar installations sounds a lot like stock manipulation. Their projections imply solar stocks won't be all that valuable, allowing them to buy at an artificially low price, then when real data blows away their predictions, they can rake in the profits. Where is the SEC on this?

I paid for FSD with the promise that the hardware would be upgradable as needed. I’m not expecting free… but at least give me an upgrade path, even if it’s outsourced to a 3rd party.
Zac and Jesse. Something you guys should know. If I’m on my business Wi-Fi, which has certain restrictions, albeit not very strict, I am unable to see your Tesla time news videos. I literally have to turn off my Wi-Fi and then can see them. Perhaps a setting on your end is part of why your view count has decreased. Hope this helps.

Star man needs to get his facts straight. 17:41 Boeing doesn't have a problem with "doors" falling off . It was a door Plug and only one not plural. Also it was a 737 not a 747.
He also conflated two separate rockets. The launch shown at 18:10 was an experimental prototype that ripped loose from it's launch mount during what was supposed to be a static fire. It is powered by (nontoxic) methane and oxygen. The plummetting booster shown trailing toxic hypergolic propellent was the first stage of a commercial satellite launch several days earlier. China routinely dumps these stages adjacent to population centers. This was extensively reported by The Launch Pad CZcams channel and Starman has no excuse for such poor reportage.
The chinese booster falling where it did was not an accident, it was negligence. There was a static fire of an attempt to copy SpaceX's Falcon 9, which wasn't as static as planned...
I like the EVJect product. But the selling of it seems to exhibit at least a little FUD.
The Starman report mentioned that ISS will be taken down by SpaceX. That's the end of spacestation.. But just think about the potential of Starship, when they get it to work properly.
That ship has a huge cargobay. Soon there will be construction in orbit for something much bigger. Maybe rotating station with artificial gravity and landing bays for several Spaceships etc.
Spaceship can carry heavy equipment. It's hard to even imagine what is possible then. But it will be surreal!! Like in the movies. The era of spaceconstruction.

Speaking about Elon Musk reading a lot of books on wars and strategies, he was interviewed at a U.S. Air Force event years ago. He was asked to predict how future wars would look and he replied that it will be fought mainly with drones and will not have require manned fighters or tanks. The audience, which were made up of military and DOD professionals, instantly erupted in laughter. Fast forward to the Ukraine/Russia war, both sides have shifted heavily to drone warfare within months. Many countries of power have also shifted a lot of resources into developing and producing tactical drones and unmanned vehicles for air, land, and sea. Funny how I can’t seem to find that interview anymore.

In the Starman Report, the failed Chinese static test was presented as a launch, with the video of an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT launch followed by the plummeting booster clip of the other failed vehicle. Making up a story by faking videos together like this, when the real video is available, is repugnant and makes me angry, and is a good reason to unsubscribe. We want you to be disciplined and not make up stuff! This is terrible! I thought you were better than this.

Eli isn't doing any research which was obviousby with the mistakes in his update unless they were intentional as would have to stitch the videos of 2 completely different rockets for that China rocket clip. The second was an unintentional launch that was meant to be a static fire of a booster but hold down clamps failed whereas the first was a full rocket from a completely different launch site.

Reading is not really faster than audiobooks as you can speed those up to whatever you're comfortable with and they're narrated at around 9,000 words per hour anyway - just like people do with CZcams videos. Even if your words per minute is technically faster when reading a book, than the audiobook narration speed, you cannot practically read a book while taking a shower, going for a walk, visiting the gym, cooking a meal, doing the gardening, going to work, eating meals, or doing the shopping. Since you can free up time to absorb books while doings things you have to do anyway, audiobooks do have an advantage for consuming large quantities of books. Of course, if you can have someone do lots of those things for you, and can sit in an armchair dedicating that time to reading, you have an advantage in that case.
Basically it's only faster if you pose the question in the wrong way. The real question is, 'What's the best way to consume more books per year?' and the answer for most people, is not trying to become a speed reader but to add audiobooks to your consumption means.

Zac and Jesse, Tesla will be the preferred EV in China because the the Chinese people value life more than money. Elon is right to make Tesla EV the safest vehicle in the world. If FSD is fully implemented in all vehicles regardless of brand, accidents will be completely avoided or lessened dramatically.
New Teslas all come with hardware 4, let's hope the older vehicles can be retro-fitted for the more powerful computers.

The A/P computer might be Upgradable, unless they purposely designed the Harness connections to be different to accommodate the HW4 cameras. I’d purchase the Hardware if it was physically possible. Much cheaper that a new vehicle 😊
It's not a case of "Purposely" changing the harness connections.
Technology changes, you can simply design a PCB with identical inputs with a major performance upgrade.
Sure, but I know HW4 repeater cameras have 2 connectors versus HW3 has 1. I’m guessing they separated the turn signal from the Camera connector. My point is the design team has to intentionally design to maintain backward compatibility of hardware. For Example: The AMD ryzn computer cannot be installed in an Intel computer car. It’s physically too large and has some different connectivity points. Backward compatibility was not factored in.
It would be great if that connector included something tasty for the bear.
