  • FiddleHed is the fun way to learn fiddling online!
    I have a course called Irish Fiddle Journeys which shows you how to play this music and add variation. In other words, it will make your fiddling sound more like fiddling. Are you interested? If so, then I'll send you some introductory lessons with sheet music, tabs, play-along track and exclusive videos. Just click here: fiddlehed.co/IrishFiddleIntro
    Alrighty. Play every day, have fun 😀 and thanks for making music 🙏
    Now, go fiddle with it...

    You are one of the best teachers I’ve found on CZcams so far. At least you teach the way I learn best, and you have a sense of humor,which makes it all seem less serious! Thank you!

    I love this site so much! I have been watching these videos for a long time and just recently became a member. I was so surprised at how much information is on Fiddlehed. At 57 I am learning everyday and enjoying myself. Keep up the amazing work.

    I don't know any celtic tunes, or scottish, or Irish except for Locha Laven Castle I can play that one. But I will have to for sure learn this one. It's kinda funky, weird and cool.

    Great video! Don't ever think you have to apologize for making a silly joke. That makes my day!!!!:) I'm claiming this tune as my own, even though it's old (so am I ) cause I'm from Tam-worth and my name is Lin! ;)

      Thanks, Andreas. I started a subscriber site at fiddlehed.com last year. The CZcams lessons will continue to be available but the site has guided lessons with tabs, play alongs, etc. You can have free access to the site for the forum, blog, request list and the first few beginner lessons. There is also a Fiddlehed Facebook page. Let me repeat, the free CZcams videos (hundreds of them) will still be out there but depending on what your goals are, you might find the site helpful. Cheers!

    My new favorite!
    I've been wondering if you're playing your tambourine with a kick pedal, if you've attached it to the top of your foot so all you have to do is tap your foot, or just how you've got it arranged.

    • @fiddl3hed
      @fiddl3hed  Před 6 lety +2

      I put it on the floor and tap it with my foot.

    In the intro of the performance, are you doing flicks or another type of ornamentation on the G string?

  • @TeresaONeill279
    @TeresaONeill279 Před 4 lety

    Thank you! Great tutorial! I tried watching the video way slowed down to see the cleanest way to handle the string crossing at the beginning, but I'm having a little trouble in the A section with the timing of when to lift and replace the second and third fingers on the G and D strings. I end up awkwardly rocking back and forth (between the Bflat and the F and between the C and the G on the G and D strings) to free up the open D string. It's fine when I play it suuuuper slow and lift and move the fingers back and forth between the two strings, but to increase the tempo, it feels like too much effort compared to what I see experienced players doing... any tips?

    Northumbria was an Angle kingdom, so perhaps don't say it's Celtic, even south west Scotland where this is a popular song was viking, not Celtic, but good playing!
