I am amazed at how Singer's approach puts many psychologists out of work when it comes to emotional regulation: When emotions arise, there is no need to explore where they come from (psychoanalysis), the family history (systemic psychology), or what fuels them to modify patterns (cognitive-behavioral approach). Everything boils down to blockages in the flow of energy, and the only technique is to relax and simply let them pass through us. Over time, they will stop hooking us. Is there any psychologist out there who has something to say about this?🤔

However, a new third wave of therapy, metacognitive therapy (MCT), comprise detached mindfulness, which is what Michael Singer calls witness conciousness. MCT is founded on the notion that the mind and body self-regulates. So by postponing to one's daily 15-30 minutes of worry time (e.g. 5 pm) clients will experience that the negative thoughts and feelings will have self-regulated and often have forgotten them by then. No wonder MCT is superior to CBT in a growing number of empirical studies - especially follow up studies 🌸
My heart feels bad because of the relationship with my mother. My mind says she is there but not loving me....I'm going to continue listening to resolve this weight and poison. May I say help?
We release samskaras by not pushing them back down. The experience of life will naturally bring up samskaras. Our job is to notice (be aware) when this happens and to allow it.
