The influence they had is so underrated. Salem were the first band to create something COMPLETELY different from everything else. I remember hearing this sound in 2009. People say "it's like nothing you've ever heard before" so much but for these guys it was ACTUALLY like that. It sounded like NOTHING else. They inspired so many other musicians, especially in hip hop. Cloud rap was heavily influenced by Salems music. And then cloud rap caused so much other new genres. The root remains Salem. The amount of genres that have their original roots in Salem is absolutely crazy.
I've listened to SALEM since like 2009 and always been a tremendous fan of t heir work and for whatever reason i've never looked up interviews/background informatoin about the actual band members... and i really feel turned off and confused, especailly by that girls hateful look on her face, i mean these are not buffoons interviewing you -- they literally appreciate your art, and see it for what it is , and want to speak with you for the sake of having a conversation about your music, which it's like idk makes zero sense to me. when i was in art school i met A LOT of people like this, and it's extremely alloof but not even in a way that makes sense... like why not show a sliver of gratitude that your stuff has found an audience, which is a powerful thing.
