    Thanks for posting this ! CamRanger just brought out their version 2 about 1 month ago, but the TetherTools looks much more promising, and I like that it uses Canon batteries. I hope in the future you can do a little demo video on using this new Air Direct with a mobile device. Showing us how it works "live" this is what I'm interested more in for my purposes. Great video thanks !

    • @forestchaput
      @forestchaput  Před 4 lety

      Our understanding is that with Case Air you shoot to the Case Air Remote software, which has limited functions. With Air Direct, you can shoot direct to your Lightroom, Capture One, Smartshooter or other preferred tethering software. And the transfer is faster with Air Direct. Case Air seems to be best suited for shooting to iOS type devices, rather than computers.

    I bought this product (have CamRanger v1 too) but running into a big issue, wonder if others are too,. When I take a photo, it shows the RAW file first, thereby taking 3-5 seconds to display. If I shot JPG only, it works great. It was my understanding that if you show RAW+JPG, it would quickly show the JPG first, even if you took several rapid photos. 5DIV tethering into LR Classic on MBP latest CC.

    1. Does Air Direct allow you to have the files on your camera's memory cards AND simultaneously transfer them 6-7 seconds for RAW file transfer to your computer/hard drive?

    Hi, I have a question on the wireless connection between the AIR DIRECT and the computer. Does the AIR DIRECT has its own, or exposes its own SSID so that when making the connection we simply select the AIR DIRECT's SSID from our computer, not the existing router's SSID that is at the location, right? Is this what you mean that no internet connection is required, simply establishing a direct connection between the computer and the camera/AIR DIRECT? Thanks

    • @forestchaput
      @forestchaput  Před 4 lety

      This is not a tutorial video but a Preview before the device was available. Capture One 20 has had some issues in terms of tethering if you are on the latest Mac OS - so there are a variety of factors to look into here. It requires that you connect to the Air Direct network and launch the ADU program to connect to C1Pro. But see if you can connect hardwire to C1Pro20 first, and then follow the steps from the manufacturer on how to connect.
