- We had a good run of Cobia this summer. We didn’t get many big fish, but plenty in the mid-twenties to mid-thirty pound range. All the fish in this video were speared out of Sebastian inlet in 40ft - 100ft. I did experience my most memorable shark encounter. That was when Nick Furrow and I jumped in on a 12 foot Tiger Shark that was eating a Sea Turtle, so that we could shoot a Cobia that was following the Tiger Shark around. Nick shot the Cobia and we landed it from the boat.

These dudes are badass! Ive seen cobia cruising along with rays but never knew they shadowed bull sharks like that. Killer video guys.

Bull sharks have a very aggressive Reputation. Seen one attack a couple of fishing kayaks ! You obviously know what you're doing, staying close to the boat ! I'd give darn near anything to be out there with you guys killing tasty "Ling". Nice, Expensive Boat !

Michel Kerger being that they prefer to hunt shallows, because of there size there capable of maneuvering for the fast fish in the deep waters so about 90 % lol sure it would have been a curious nibble lmfao

Mishka WarCry I have no clue these guys are on another level. I'm used to spearfishing when it's Crystal Clear and you could see in front of you for a long time and having smaller reef sharks black tips and more docile sharks swimming around which doesn't bother me that much once in awhile you'll see a bull shark come in and depending on its temperament you might leave or at least stop spearing for a while maybe even see a decent Hammerhead but if that Hammerhead is 15 ft long or a big thousand pound tiger comes in I'm out of the water

Why sharks go for other type of fish
Seem quite dangerous. They're basically creating a situation that triggers the sharks instincts to attack. Dying, bleeding, twitching fish and every fish they shoot increase the danger.Yes the shark will most likely attack their catch but there is still a chance they could get attacked too.

You guys got some grit! But I guess it ain't so bad being in such clear water where you can see for a good distance. On the California North coast you are usually only able to see 6- 10 feet. Many times less! Once in a great while you can see 20'. I just hated it when I came out from under the cliffs only to see a half a baby seal floating down! Time to go boys!!! Lol good freaken job! Nerves of steel!

How long do you stay in the water after you bloody it up? Do the sharks get more active after you start shooting the cobia? Looks like a pretty effective strategy if the sharks don't turn around and try to eat you fish.
Sometimes they try to eat the fish we just have to work as a team and be careful.
Why do people that clearly know absolutely nothing about fishing and the ocean insist on looking up fishing videos they don't understand and then make asinine comments to make themselves look stupid.

Most were Bull Sharks. The one giant was a Tiger Shark.

Is there a trigger attached to the spear gun , & if so , will it kill a bear & what type of spear gun full name is it , or is it all " Clobia ", the name of the spear gun's name ?.
That gun used is a Rob Allen. There is a trigger as far as will it kill a bear it would take some serious shot placement to do that. It is about a 7 mm shaft and it doesn't go very far out of the water. You'd be better off with a traditional hunting bow.

If it's one thing I learned bullsharks are a completely different animal when in clear water vs dirty water completely docile most times.
