  • In this video we are demonstrating the Mitutoyo 500-196-30 ABSOLUTE Digital Caliper. You can view it here...
    digitalmicrometers.co.uk/500-...
    1. I first start off by turning on the caliper loosening the locking screw so you can adjust the jaws.
    2. After zeroing it when the jaws are closed, I then demonstrated the repeatability by opening the jaws the full length of the scale and back to the closed position.
    3. At this point we measured our first 25mm gauge block, whereby the caliper displayed the correct reading without hesitation.
    4. We then switched from metric to imperial and measured a 1 inch block.
    5. I then zero it at the 25mm and open and close to demonstrate that their is no drift along the scale.
    6. Switching the reading back to metric we then measured a 30mm ring gauge using the internal jaws.
    7. Last but not least using the depth rod we measured the height of the 25mm gauge block.
The mitutoyo calipers come with a battery fully charged so when you first open the box it will turn straight on. It also comes packed with instructions and a spare battery.

does these calipers auto turn off after sometime as idle? I am asking as I dont see mine turn off unless turned off manually using a button.
