    If you are using a preset template in FL STUDIO, just remember that channel "1" is relative to where the drum busis assigned on the channel rack. For example, channel 1 in the Ugritone drum routing is actually channel 4 on the faders, to account for the Premaster faders
    I used the megamix setting, and assigned the 4 channels after the main drum bus to the overheads, trash, hell, etc. So those are on channels 2,3,4 and 5 according to the Ugritone drum plugin, but on the faders, they will be channels 5,6,7 and 8.
    I then assigned each individual piece of the kit on the channels after that, keeping the toms separate but the cymbals on a single channel.
    I had a hell of a time trying to figure this all out this morning, but I finally got it mapped just how I want it... And saved as a separate file to use on all future projects.
    Hope this helps someone out there.

    I just recently became acquainted with KVLT. It's great so far, but one thing I'm having an issue with, is that some of the midi packs I've been using have the kicks separated into L and R kicks (C2 and B1 respectively). It's simple enough to copy and paste them onto one note in the midi file, but there are quite a number of files I'm working with. Is there some way to create a second kick drum, or assign the kick to 2 separate midi notes simultaneously? Any help is appreciated.

    • @BenoniStudio
      @BenoniStudio  Před 4 lety +4

      The grooves don't live inside the drum plugin. You would drag them in from your file system or from within your DAW if it has the option. In Studio One you can browse through the file system and preview MIDI by clicking on it. This will depend on your DAW.

    I'm having trouble with the humanizer. I've set humanize to 0% and the velocity on all notes is perfectly the same but still it sound like it's very humanized. I'd like to humanize it myself note by note but it's difficult when it's already humanized and makes different noise on every note no matter what. It's especially annoying with hi-hat when I want to make a specific accent but the program already has its own random accent on it. Is there a way to fix this or is it supposed to be like that?

      In KVLT II Expanded you can change where KVLT looks for samples. You can move the whole folder anywhere you want. Then set the location in KVLT with the SETTINGS button.
      If you are talking about MIDI, you can put those anywhere and drag them into your DAW.
      You can put the guitar cab IRs anywhere you want. Go to settings in TRVE Cab and set the location to the top level folder where your IRs are located.

    If you route KD II to for example 6 channels via the plugin routing presets how are you supposed to export the dynamics from the OH and Room channels? When exporting your production to stems I mean. I wanted more convenient control over the mix so I'm trying to expand the routing instead of using the default stereo mix. While it works perfectly fine in the production (I get the dynamics from/for the individual kick, snare, tom tracks via the OH and Room ch) if I now export the tracks there's no information on the OH and Room track obviously. If I copy the midi info to them those notes are going to play several times at the same time reinforcing each other so I guess I have to create two new tracks that records the OH and Room ch exclusively and respectively?

    Can you help me out to figure this out? Thank you!

    • @BenoniStudio
      @BenoniStudio  Před 2 lety +1

      My guess is that the VST file was not installed properly. Go to C: - Program Files - Common Files - VST3 and look for a file named Ugritone Drums OR KVLT Drums II depending on what version you are installing.
      If you don't see it, you will need to look for the file in your other VST folders. Sometimes the VST3 version gets installed in the VST2 folder and it will only work if it is in the VST3 folder mentioned above.
      There could be many locations for VST2 files, so search in other folders as well, but in the past I have seen the VST3 file installed in: C: - Program Files - Common Files - VST2
      So check there first. If you see the VST3 version of KVLT Drums II or Ugritone Drums in there, simply move it to C: - Program Files - Common Files - VST3 and then it should show in Studio One.

      @@BenoniStudio Thank you, i managed to install it correctly, but the big difference i'm having is that in my browser o can't load any sample so i can drag into the timeline, it won't show anything related to ugritone, not even if i route it to a different location and put everythin in there, and a weird thing is that all my files have .ugrisample extension rather than .mid extension, so i believe thats why the DAW won't see them, but thats just the way i downloaded them after my purchase, its driving me insane how this was not a click to install lol

      @@knmbsst I guess I don't understand why you are trying to load the samples into your DAW? The samples and MIDI are two different things.

    I am so confused. I have Logic Pro X and I’m wondering if I need to get an additional drum sampler and amp simulator to run Kvlt Drums and Trve Cab. Anybody know?

    • @theeggqueen
      @theeggqueen Před 2 lety +1

      KVlt is a drum sampler. If you got that and logic, you are all set. Or you can use the drums in logic, set them to GM mapping, and use the midi files for those sounds too. or whatever. the cabinet simulator you need an IR loading plugin, which you may already have, or you can probably get for free. The cab simulators are IR files

      KVLT 2 now includes an installer, so just follow the on screen instructions. Also, KVLT 2 now runs inside the UGRITONE DRUMS plugin, so install that first.

      @@BenoniStudio Thanks for the response. They're both described as "raw, old school, underground sounding for heavy music".
      I know that in general KVLT is more suited towards black metal and RIOT is hardcore, but I'm sure there's some interchangeability of sounds you can get with these kits and their specific genres. Like both probably could suit the other's genre well, right? I'm assuming same goes for using both for some 'grungy' sounding rock or even old school death metal.

    I know these drums are supposed to sound raw and old school. But even back then drums sounded way better than this crap.
    I tried the demo and it's impossible get a good mix with these drums. Makes everything sound thin and weak.
