I have owned the 7s for one year now. Now that they are broke in, they do sound pretty sweet. Im just running through a Schitt Modius DAC which can change the tonal qualities with a few options. Just sayin if you want more choice a good DAC will help.
Pondering whether to get the Presonus Eris Studio 4 Active's or M-Audio BX5 D3's. I could stretch to the Studio 5's but I don't know whether my floating shelf above and behind my PC could take the added size and weight (currently have BX5 D2's there and the shelf is already somewhat bowing either side). I plan to either shift my existing BX5 D2's over to another spot where my synth workstation resides and put the Presonus on the shelf above the PC or the other way around depending. The Studio 5's would fit on the more sturdier shelf behind the synth but I dunno if it will be wasted there as I would mainly be mixing on the PC which is why I am looking at the Studio 4's instead. I just wanted something I can monitor the synth workstation on instead of cans.
I would probably go with the smaller size if I were in your situation. These were surprisingly on the heavy side for 5s. I do have a pair of 1st gen Eris 3.5s and I've honestly finished some rough mixes on them and was happy with the end result. I could see myself doing final mixes on the studio 4s. (With my headphones as references)
It's crazy that $400 speakers get you this type of sound. I wonder how good the Eris Pro 8 Coaxials would sound in my studio....... 😏
Thanks mate
Excellent vid!
Thank you!
