Good video, very chill, thank you
For me the fidelity of the sound is more important, thanks for the comparisson!!!
great video, thanks for comparing
Great video.😊
Nice video ! Thanks !
Pretty good video, I liked the audio comparison with the EQ.
Thanks man appreciate 👍
Thank you.
FWIW, there is a really nice padded bag for the ilouds, but it is extra $. Totally worth it for me, though. Monitors fit like a glove in a really well though out way, with an external storage pouch for cables and another for papers.
I love the ilouds. High end separation and clarity is exceptional and overall the listening experience is very exciting.
Any chance you can do a review on the goaux 4 and do a comparison again with the ilouds?!
can you recommend something this size with optical in?
what do you think of the go aux4?
Nice lute!
The ilouds have more low end than the source?!
Good video. Do you think the KRK Goaux 3 are ok though? I have a choice between both of these but the KRK’s are a lot cheaper. What’s important to me is portability. I’ll be using them with an audio interface and amp sims to play guitar. I won’t be doing any recording.
Perfect for what you're trying to do.
I've been measuring the output of both speakers in a neutral space, standing next to each other and noticed that the main speaker, the one with the electronics on board, does not output proper sound below 100Hz. The other speaker goes like the specifications until 60Hz!! Isn't that strange? I've returned this set and got a new one but still the same issue!
hi you tested GoAux 3 or iLouds ?
@@daddyhexsof4816 test of the krk output (see other comment)
Maybe it's because that active side speaker cabinet is filled with electronics?
Thank you for the comparison! Just keep on mind that it would be much more helpful to use music with a sonic character we all are more familiar with. These fancy lo-fi mangy sounds with added noise can't serve as a reference. AND - when you switch from A to B (or more) play the same piece of music. Hearing A with drums and then B without drums doesn't help at all - especially if we can even see the analyzer on the display. Good luck for the next time :-)
I'm talking about KRK GoAux 3
What would be your pick for studio monitors that don't have to be portal between 100 $ to 300 $, 2 picks would be best one around 100 and another around 300.
TDU? ;)
great review, but I have a question, have you tried the Jamo S 801 PM?
can i hook these up to a audio interface
Yes.
I was wondering with the iLoud they're not balanced inputs. Does this cause an issue at all, with unwanted noise etc?
Cool vid. My Ilouds have started distorting :(
same here when they were new they were fine they clip easier now over time.
yep I have the same issue .. they distort on certain deep bass notes/frequencies.
the ilouds are incredible for the sound vs size ratio.
terrible speakers for sub bass frequencies...just cannot handle deep sub bass notes and distort so bad
@@HAYDENMUSICTV the compact size, accuracy, price, durablility and "hearable low end" is GREAT on the ilouds. If you're using them as "mains" in an unportable studio that's not a good Idea tho.
What about ilouds vs goaux 4?
stay away from ilouds if you are making music with deep sub bass tones as they distort badly on very low sub frequencies..alternatively you can use ilouds with a subwoofer and they will be cool
hard to beat ilouds, especially the MTMs.
I have ilouds with a carrying case
I’ve got a goaux 3(as my first high quality speaker) and I definitely feel like the higher frekvencies are not coming out.
This video confirmed my belief in the second part… so if I want a small and quiet speaker with really high quality sound, what should I buy?
If you're not moving around and have the money/space, its better to get the Adam A series or the KRK Classic series for beginner speakers.
You could also use an EQ plugin on the master bus to sculpt the mix and compensate for the GoAux. Its a bit complicated, and you have to remove the plugin before rendering the mix down. Another option is to listen to music you know well on the speakers, get to know their response and compensate that way.
@@Fl4ppersGreat advice!
No contest at all, iLouds seem unbeatable for anything of its size
They seem so well received online, I'm considering buying some for my new apartment..
They distort on deep bass notes on certain notes/frequencies and don't handle sub bass very well
@@HAYDENMUSICTVman, okay, call a relevant option to swap
what kind of music you make and what's the main thing that you looking for/important to you ?@@FractalGOOD
No amount of accessories can trump sound quality when it comes to studio monitors or speakers in general. The iLouds sound way better than the Krk's. I dont understand how you would get more use out of an inferior sounding speaker just because it has better stands and a carry case?! The iLouds sound so good for their size and form factor, and by most accounts, there is nothing more to be said on the matter. iLouds it is then ;)
Here's how you get more use out of inferior sounding speakers.
Listening to a lot of music through them and using references as comparisons while mixing.
In general, if you don't know what you're doing the equipment doesn't matter.
If you know what you're doing, skill always supercedes.. like..
have you heard of the Yamaha NS-10s?🤔❤
Your microphone volume is too low - I'm just 52 seconds in. I've had to turn the volume up really high on the television.
Just a reference for future videos 🙏
