woah wtf that's a thing?
Do 16gb of ram instead of 8gb.
In one of my next videos where I upgrade this pc I will.
@PikeletTech Also make sure you do two 8GB sticks of RAM for dual channel which is better.
@@blacksquaregaming 👍
You should also get a Nvme pcie card
$8.99 for a nvme pcie 4.0 adapter
$15 for pcie 5.0
It aint a real budget build until the tape comes out. I salute you.
Nice build, it shows how cheap and accessible PC gaming can actually be. Sure you are not playing many triple A games on a machine like this but you get to choose from a selection of thousands of retro and indie games spanning almost 30 years, you have several lifetimes worth of games available to choose from.
So true. Through emulation alone up through the sixth generation you have a literal lifetime of games to play. Current games are largely overrated, outside of a few truly amazing gems.
Hi everyone👋
I really appreciate the support you guys are showing this video. It took quite a while to make and I’m really relieved that you guys are enjoying it! I’ll make sure to upload more videos around this PC. Have a good day everyone ❤
awesome video man love to see new creators now and then
Nice build mate
I liked that video. That reminded me of myself back when I was 14-ish. Making PCs out of "garbage".
And now I work in IT-Security and support.
Keep up the work, even when YT dosnt take off: Hardware knowledge will help you the rest of your life.
performance u r getting at 100 dollars is insanse cant say much about how long it will last but its still impressive
Thank you bro ♥
"how long it will last" what does that mean
This video was so relaxing I love it
@@LordShadow291 thanks, it’s the style of video I’m going for 😀
@@PikeletTech You will be the best tech tuber one day, keep going sir❤
I love the movie, “Up.”

Keep it up man, it will pay off in the end!!!
Well done bud! Nice vid and voice over work and the B-roll was good too. Can't help but feel that a used GPU could have given you better value. Like a used RX 560 4gb and also two sticks of 4gb dual channel RAM would also be better than one 8gb stick. Why not make a new vid to compare? I'm Subscribing, keep up the great work!
Thanks for the feedback. The workstation PC I bought was a SFF Pc which means I could only use low profile graphic cards. I did search for an Rx 560 lp, but where I live it’s very hard to get good low profile cards on the used market. You’re also right with the ram, I don’t know why I didn’t do that. The main reason why I got 1x8 stick instead of 2x4 is so next time I do a video I can get another 8gb stick to make it 16gb. I will make a new video soon around this Pc and definitely will compare benchmarks. Thanks for subscribing. 😄
@@PikeletTech I also live in a place where it's hard to find good used hardware and new components are very expensive. The 1030 perfomed very well in your benchmarks. Also, i liked what you did with the paint and it's given some ideas for my own workstation since i don't have any RGB stuff. Keep building and keep gaming bud!
Honestly great job for a build and you can actually run stuff decently, I respect it
Nice video! You can easily remove that surplus paint with some wet baby wipes. Have fun with your new build!
@@keikogaming oh thanks for the tip
Good video dude, although that edit when you were showing the system off hurt my eyes. I would've looked for good deals on a used GPU and just had it stick out the side of the case but that's just because I'm all about getting the absolute most for my money, maybe a AMD Radeon Pro 3100 or 4100. But always nice to see people interested in the hobby and make new content on it
I had an idea about buying one of these computers and using a bigger one fan 1650 card and a riser cable and turning the GPU sideways to fit and also modifying the lid a bit, cutting it and adding a grill, to add airflow. I got this brain storm of an idea from watching a video of a guy building a pc inside an Xbox, but I think the same could be done here with a few mods and 3D printed brackets perhaps.
I did a similar project with a Dell Optiplex 7050 I bought for $70 (Came with Intel Core i7-6700, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AMD R7 450 4GB GPU, and 2 sata cables). While I did have these parts, I upgraded the GPU to a GTX 1050 Ti ($60), added a Gigabit Ethernet PCIe card ($20), and added a 1TB Nvme SSD ($100). If I calculate how much it would cost after all upgrades, it would be about $250 before tax.
It may not be as powerful as my custom built PC, but as a secondary PC, it gets the job done. I'm surprised how close the performance is to my current laptop.
Fun fact in my country Indonesia, here you can make a office pc with just 6 Bucks but no casing and gpu and it run good Somehow 😂
That’s amazing!
Good stuff. I also have fun with some SFF HP desktops/workstations.
looks great nice build!❤
Ngl your voice (to me) is actually really relaxing to listen to.
That's weird, you realize buddy isn't legal right?
@@Wendyhalter-qh7mw you're 100% a twitard user. Imagine me say something good about his voice and turning it into something weird. Im giving the guy confidence by complimenting his voice for fucks sake.
@@Wendyhalter-qh7mw you're the weird one here, that didn't even cross my mind but you thought about it immediately. Says a lot about a twitter user. I was just giving him confidence by complimenting his voice, a lot of new youtubers are using ai to voice their videos, but he did well in this one, not too loud, not rushing and no mumbling.
@@DeeJay_WR default groomer voice line💀💀💀
@@Wendyhalter-qh7mw and thats the default troll/idiot response. It's just common sense and you don't have any of it. Can't even give out a compliment without it being weird, i guess thats normal for you, you never got one in your life the only successful thing you ever did was become a walking talking tumor.
for a build like this i'd actually recommend an RX 550 or a Quadro P620, both have comparable performance and are significantly more performant than the GT 1030 in my experience, while costing around the same used.
"it supports DDR4 which is a little surprising" With all due respect, my man, DDR4 is nearly 10 years old now.
Great work 👍
good build I hope you didn't forget to install video card's drivers and continue your content
Those are great little systems, I actually have quite the collection! My favorite was the G1 USDT, it was a challenge to upgrade the GPU because it uses the smaller MXM laptop form factor. Ended up being a good little Switch emulator!
great keep up the work
Cool vid, how much would a 1050 low profile go for though? I think u would have gotten way way better perf w it
an extra 8gb stick for dual channel would help a ton, Great video! I would recommend next time getting a used kit of 16gb (2x8gb) For around the same price, very common on ebay.
Yeah for sure 👍
for the tp link thing you need to install all of the drivers for that specific model
👍
for a low end gaming pc. not bad well done there.
Thanks ❤️
Nice build! Interesting color choice aswell
Thanks, chrome was the only colour spray paint I had 😂
good shi bro ❤
If you're gonna use it for long term, I saw spots for a 2.5 inch drive, I would recommend properly screwing it in for easy movement or replacement later. Plus it looks cleaner. I would make sure to double check that the paint didn't plug up the front intake for air. And finally, I would recommend a better card than the 1030. There are plenty of cards like rx 450 that are leagues better for the same price. If you look around though on second hand market places you can probably score a RX 580 for a really good price.
Overall, a pretty neat build.
100% 👍
Absolutely amazing
@@pave8361 thanks
great find bro!
Good try! You can dab those smudges with mineral spirits, maybe do a 16GB DDR4 kit, and even an Arc a310 or RX6400 at some point if you want to play some PS4 level games. There's even a decent selection of i7-6700s out there for relatively cheap. Have fun!
Thanks for the tips!
Also i didn’t mention this in the video but unfortunately the power supply in the workstation has only got 180 watts which is why i went for the GT 1030. Would the arc a310 or RX6400 still work? I’m guessing they won’t.
@@PikeletTech Sorry I didn't see the reply before but YES the RX6400 uses only 70 watts or so under load. Not sure about the a310 but I've used the 6400 in a couple similar builds with that PSU. Runs great!
@@PikeletTech Just thought of this too, since RX6400s are still kind of pricey at $150, for close-ish performance in a single slot low-profile form factor look at a Radeon Pro WX4100 4GB... they use less gamer-y software but can often be had on ebay at about $60-80.
I have the same gpu and actually its insane and btw that's a nice video u deserve a sub
Love this content
my main machine for my living room is the similar hp z240. I got a 3050 in it and a pcie slot adapted nvme. It is fantastic.
Sounds great!
nice vid
have one hp similar but i74790 gtx1650 75w ssd 16gb ram and increased my steam library at least with 25 games last year. To name a few, titanfall2, deadspace 2, gta5, aliens, all metro games, tomb raider (last one), wolfenstein, doom and so one also many i dy games. If you play games before 2020 its more than enough even for heavy games at 1080p
Yo can you optimized the PC?
Yes
keep up the good work
nice work man my first build also had a gt 1030 lmao, I bought a gtx 1060 next its a great deal
I might upgrade this pc to a gtx 1060 one day 👀
@@PikeletTech haha nice make sure to get the 6 gb vram one!
I have this same computer I want to upgrade mines but idk how to mount the ssd in there so uhh
bro keeep it up
Thanks for watching 👊
10 bucks for a pc is amazing
Very lucky bid
Nice, but i dont like the 80mm fans and the propietary power supply.
Yup, definitely have to add more fans/cooling and PSU down the toad
You'd get an exponentially better PC at $300
I had a similar speced pro desk had i5 6500, 16gb and a rx6400 but i ending up breaking the power supply as its only 180w rated 😅. Worked for a bit as a whole but died in the end
@@matthewconnor8801 yeah that’s why I’m not making another video about this pc
@@PikeletTech It died?
@@dustymofo917 no there’s just not much to upgrade anymore, the gt 1030 is the furthest I would go with upgrading the gpu, I can only upgrade the cpu from to an i7 6700 which is quite a bit better than the i5 but quite expensive, the only thing I would obviously upgrade is the ram to 16gb. Right now I’m working on a new video with a new budget pc with a way better upgrade path
get another 8gig stick of ram an just watch the uplift for like $25 more so a really capable pc and will be alot smoother look forward to that vid on the diffrence getting 8gig more
good job
how strong you tryna make this gaming pc? as an early 2000's? cause i highly doubt it can do current games
I might be able to get either a gtx 1050ti Lp or 1650 lp. The best cpu I can get is an i7 6700 and I can get 32gb of ddr4 ram @2400.
@@PikeletTech >.< im not saying that as if i know anything about pc parts just saying, by looks, some of that looks underpowered to play modern games., sorry
@@LouisianaBurns yeah I guess you won’t be playing cyberpunk on it but for your esport titles it’s pretty decent
It can play 2011 Skyrim
Yea for $100 this can game in 1080p. I highly recommend people pay the extra $50-75 and get a better processor, at least intel 8500 but recommend 9500.
@@Kevin-vh6nn yeah the motherboard in this workstation only supports 6 gen i3,i5, and i7
u sound like futurecanoe
Can you try running kenshi?
👍
couldve gotten a used 1650 low profile or an rx6500 low profile
@@quandaledingleofficial6 where I live low profile cards are very expensive, couldn’t find any other cards for less tbh
30 pounds might get you a 1050ti which would be great
stutters go hard, but good pc for the price
Getting another stick of ram will do
Can you test GTA5 and forza
Will make a video soon
omg 1030+8gb ram+no thermal paste replace, poor old pc☠️☠️
@@nguyenloctuan713 it’s like you expect that a $100 PC is going to be good 🤣
Everyone hit the subscribe button and appreciate him :>
Thank you 🙏
Obviously a beginner🤣guiding himseld through the build😂
Yup 😅
140 gbs of storage isnt very much mate
I put 240GB of storage
Bro use gtx 1050ti
Couldn’t find a cheap one
This isn't building your own PC, it's slotting in some RAM and a graphics card. And the PC isn't good it can't even do 30 FPS on Fortnite on Low settings.
Pretty hard to build a custom pc with $100 but maybe you would like to make a video 👍
Did you see the video? It was doing 80fps avg on Fortnite.
I can see the effort you’re putting into this man, I’ll be here when you hit a million🫡
I’m glad you enjoyed ❤
