I know you've already done Adam's original "Song for Home" but you *really* need to hear him cover "If I Could Only Fly"!! OMG I adore his voice in that one! So velvety smooth. You'll love it. ❤ He's playing his guitar in that one, too.
Chance is hands down my absolute favorite voice from Home Free . I too believe he is very underrated ☹ if you haven't heard Cover Me Up ❤ you might want to check it out ?
He's my favorite as well but sadly underrated as you sad. Hopefully that will change soon.❤
I do agree and truly hope that Home Free will record some of his songs. I know Chance’s style is slightly different from what Home Free records, but I think Chance has a very broad range of taste in music genres, but leans towards Folk style, which I believe is very close to Country music.
Yes, Chance is overlooked and underrated. iMHO, Tim and Austin are the 2 extremes in HF and get the most attention. Home Fries (speaking generally here) don’t suggest Chance the way they do the others. I feel like a broken record because I am always pushing reactors to Chance. This rendition is glorious. I don’t know if you’ve reacted to Home Free’s “I Can’t Outrun You “- Chance lead, 5 part harmony, hauntingly beautiful, and Chance directed the video. Someone in here suggested “Cover Me Up”- very emotive performance by Chance, and let it play out as there is a surprise at the end. On his Adam Chance-Topic channel, there is “Far From Any Road”. Chance on guitars, Adam Rupp on percussion and bass guitar, and a female guest singer whose voice goes well with Chance. It has a western feel. Great reaction today.
"Lowlands" lyrics written by Sami, his wife.
I absolutely love Adam Chance voice. He is sooooo good❤ He loves Sea Shantys❤
That was a very beautiful rendition of this song. I like the slowed down version. What a difference compared to the Sea Shanty Medley. Chance's voice really suits this style of music.
Chance was a pirate in a previous life!l Chances voice is magical, hauntingly beautiful
💕💕
A beautiful and original take on two very old songs of the sea. I love Chance's voice and he and Sami are such a creative couple.
I absolutely love Chance's voice. He did a wonderful job on this song. He definitely deserves more views. He is such a fantastic singer/ songwriter. I say it all the time, but I just get lost in his voice. So soothing
Amen to that !
Adore this and Sami being in this also….brilliant…you are hearing the Hound and the Fox…correct, so melodic and his voice so soothing….
Chance is so underrated! He should be much better known. And this is such an original arrangement - it made me a bit weepy too, and I was pleasantly surprised when the Hound and the Fox joined in. It's an old song about sailors leaving a ship at the end of a voyage, when they can get all their complaints off their chest without it mattering because they won't be stuck together in a small space much longer. Apparently sailors would make up their own verses, often, ah, less than respectful...
Great reaction, Red! I really enjoy Chance's voice. His covers with The Fox And Hound are also very good.
The woman in the Lowlands part was Sami Chance’s beautiful wife.
The words on his paper boat were from his original song Song For Home
I got this meaning from the internet Leave Her Johnny tells the story of sailors who are tired of terrible conditions, urging a boy called Johnny to leave the ship forever and return to a life on land. It was classified as a pump shanty, sang when carrying out the dull task of pumping water out that had leaked into a ship.
It’s also worth mentioning that Leave Her Johnny was generally sung during the last round of pumping a ship dry once it was tied up in port, just before the crew were due to leave. The shanty helped sailors channel their frustrations and build camaraderie.
Depending on how mad the crew were, the song could be changed to feature all kinds of insults directed at ship officers. But due to the threat of punishment, sailors didn’t complain directly. Instead, they directed their anger into the shanty.
I love Chance, his voice is like velvet. It's so soothing
I love Chance's voice. When they did the Sea Shanty Medley and he had so much of a lead on that; He became my favorite. That was early on in my Home Free experience. I've had a soft spot for Chance ever since. I love the whole genre of the sea. I fell in love with it as a teenager reading Horatio Hornblower novels. Chance is such a natural when it comes to sea shanties. He did a cover of the Wellerman with the Fox and Hound that is worth giving a listen to. Love the neighborhood.
This is one of the shanties in Home Free’s sea shanties. Done very differently with lots of energy.
Adam loves sea shanties, this is one that was on Home Free’s medley of sea shanties but he sung the whole song! That’s a great song by Adam Chance! Wow! Good job Red! Low bass Kenneth
I love this version of this song. And adding in the part with his lovely Sami in the Lowlands part. Thank you for reacting to this.
Thank you Ms. Red for pointing me in Adam's direction! I immediately subscribed to his channel. Loved his heart-felt performance and your excellent reaction!
Love Chance ❤
As always you are so right he is very underrated I think he really drives HomeFree as the midrange background 💯💯#adamchance #songforhome #homefreeguys #reaction #redheadedneighbor #bestreactor #redsarmy #beautifulcountrygirl
Chance is currently touring with The Longest Johns on their US tour. Their tenor, Robbie, had visa issues, so they asked Chance to step in till Robbie could join them. Between learning all TLJ's songs and touring, Chance didn't have time to record a "normal" video. But I think the animation in this is adorable. HF's new lighting guy, Cam, was responsible for the Leave Her Johnny part, and Chance's wife, Sami, for the Lowlands part and for adding the lyrics to both parts.
Chance and Sami are close friends with Reilly and Mackenzie Zamber, aka The Hound + The Fox. They've done a number of collaborations, and H+F does a lot of his background vocals. Reilly is producing Chance's upcoming album.
Chance did a great job on this song. Chance is a great singer of Home Free. Thank you Readheaded Neighbor for playing this song.
I know I’m behind several days, but I do adore Chance and his voice is gorgeous! This is a sea shanty which Chance slowed down a good bit, but it’s really great! His voice makes hits me in the feels, for sure!
When HF did their Sea Shanty medley ...this sing was sung with a very upbeat tempo. This version is the old age tempo. The telling of a decommissioning of a ship.
Yeah, "Wow!" One of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. I've replayed it a hundred times since it first came out in the audio version. Listening to it that way it's even more magical.
I love his voice. His take on a sea shanty that is just amazing. ❤
Such a velvety, soothing voice. Love the look of the video, too. And always a bonus to get The Hound and the Fox as backup.
Thanks Ms Red!
Adam Chance's voice is well-suited to melancholy folk songs and shanties. And to clear up the confusion, it's The Hound + The Fox aka Reilly and MacKenzie Zamber. Those 3 blend so well with each other. 😊
Yes your correct Carl Smith!
I've seen a number of videos of him with guitar - never seen a pick- ships and trains are she. Hound and Fox were involved
This is one of the songs from Sea Shanty medley's by Home Free is the series of sailing songs and it is really good you would enjoy it❤❤❤ as always your reactions are just they're more than reactions their educational and you have taught me a new way to listen to music❤❤ #redheadedneighbor
Loved it (for the fifth time).
Wow, that was lovely.
It's got a gospel vibe and classic sound very easy to listen to good pick, my daughter got me into NOAH KAHAN good story telling with great lyrics
He really has a thing for sea shanties.
That’s fun!
Ther is w whole genre of shanties that are solely for entertainment. They are often wistful and nostalgic, for good reason, his arrangements of both these songs really hit the mark. Other shanties are call and response to set a rhythm to coordinate work like rowing or pulling a line. I believe the first group are called forebiters.
That was really good. Ho ho ho and a bottle of rum. This reminds me of a song that I cannot for the life of me remember the group or the title to which periodically bugs me. lol. I'll find it again one day. 😂
Great reaction
Thanks Red ❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks! Adam Chance also does Ronin Hood and Little John the original was sone by one of my all time fav Roger Miller for the Disney cartoon movie 🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹
Thank you!
Fox and Hound
#GabrielHenrique Number like 156❤❤
I am from Brazil! I leave my suggestion for your reaction, the talented Gabriel Henrique with the cover LOVE BY GRACE by Lara Fabian
SEA CHANTY usually sung faster.
HF's fans can be fickle. Some of them are not interested at all in the guys' outside projects - they are missing out on some fantastic music. And it hasn't really been pushed, many of his fans are busy encouraging others to watch it.
In HF Chance is in the unenviable position of default baritone. Baritones are so often ignored - they aren't the bass providing the foundation, they aren't the tenor with the melody - "just" part of the harmony. Although he does have a respectable # of songs where he is lead, for some reason most of them aren't reacted to as much.
I know the video doesn't necessarily reflect the actual recording, he is not using a pick here, so I doubt he used one in actuality.
