Definitely would love to see a survivalist run. Could have some really interesting limitations.
I think it'd be fun to install a few mods that adds realistic damage, bleeding, or more intense needs. Maybe even being unable to trade or heal broken limbs depending on how crazy I want to get.

I mentioned in the video the survivalist run in refrence to the terminals and logs littered around Honest Hearts. I thought it'd be fun rather than just saying "welp let's use some of the best gear of the game" that I'd make it harder with the help of some mods! I still intended to use his armor and learn his story.
I actually tried it. Used only weapons of the US military and the survivalist rifle as well as combat armor and the desert ranger armor
The "By the lord of Babylon" speech always hits me, even as someone who isnt religious it got me so interested in his beliefs. What an amazing character

Playing as Joshua you don't even need guns to shoot with. Just run up to enemies and start droping absolute banger quotes from the bible.
I always find it funny when "no chems" is brought up as part of a challenge because in all my years of playing Fallout games I don't think I've ever actually used them all that often
At what difficulty do you play and do you play melee or ranged? Melee + high difficulty is what I like to play and you end up rellying on chems heavily.
And in Fallout 2 for instance I usually get addicted to Jet quickly...
@@henryhafner6425 I usually don't use jet since it's very addictive. I use mentats and steroids to max my Special a lot tho.
I think Stims and RadAway are technically chems in lore
Honestly same thought in my recent New Vegas runs I use them occasionally when hard enemies come out.
Imho the penalty for using them is mild so you miss out on using them occasionally

graham has special stats in game. Graham has 6 ST, 7 PE, 10 EN, 7 CH, 7 IN, 8 AG, 5 LK. He also has guns, repair, barter, tagged.
Characters have special stats, it's why Snuffles is constantly joked as being smarter than Caesar and why in the first 30 seconds of the video I referenced Joshua having 10 endurance. The fact of the matter is that, without intense training and implants, it's not achievable. This video wasn't intended to be a copy of his stats from the wiki, so I apologize if that wasn't clear enough!

27:51 Actually, if you explore the zone where Mobius is, you can find 1 or 2 rooms full with mentats, you can get like 20 or 30 mentats from there.

Sometimes in life being different isn't always a good thing. I would like to bring them back, perhaps in a shorter capacity, but we'll see how the analytics are on this video to compare! I'm just trying to appease the masses and I've gotten a lot of comments over the past few months that express a LARGE amount of dislike over the stories and the pacing of my videos, so I'm experimenting a bit.

I don't think he's trying to be a sellout for analytics, with the removal of the dislike count it's hard for us to understand how the wider audience receives his videos and so there very well could be a large portion of his audience that doesn't like parts of his style. He's pretty new and is exploring his options you know he's tried us girls and now he's trying the guys and eventually he will learn to please both at the same time.

Healing Powder isnt a chem either. The Legion is completely chem free, so instead they carry healing powder.
While I could very well be misremembering, I believe we learned in the Walter White run that Healing Powder is actually counted as a chem in game! 🥰

Joshua Graham is such a great character and I love using his gun A light shining in darkness. But recently I made a the survivalist build on honor of Randall Clark. It uses the survivalist rifle and wears the desert ranger armor, great video btw.

OWB basically allows me to always be on mentats for the rest of my character builds once I've looted all the main mentat stashes there! It's both hilarious to imagine how many people there in the pre war were obsessed with them, but also just super handy once you have all those mentants!!

The Think Tank has a very easy peaceful situation, just do weird stuff for the female one, tell 0 to use a slash, and figure out how to talk with 8. Ask Klein to confer with them, and you get peace.
You also could show Boros the dog bowl from behind his house.

If we wanted to watch someone do specific runs, there are plenty of folks on CZcams who do so. I think most of us are here for you, yourself. :) This was a fun run though! The fact that Joshua could still move at all after full-body 2nd or 3rd degree burns is nuts, the scar tissue alone would be crazy stiff. But y'know, he's Joshua Graham. Mortal limitations apparently do not apply.
Your initial estimation of stats is wrong, it is very possible to have 50 DT and 10 END, With every single non-cybernetic option available as well.
This admittedly requires lonesome road with the Elite Riot Armor.

When you plant them down they look a lot like bottle cap mines which are made with lunch boxes

As a side note, Joshua would likely NOT side with NCR either. Hence the line "Too much love of money and ownership. Not enough love of God and giving." Yes Man would probably be the only option for Joshua. He is at least a good militant leader.
Oddly enough. Blood sausage and thin paste are both classed as chems in the game. Not towards chem use count, but they are removed from your by ceasar and are effected by all the perks that effect chems and the medicine skill, while not being effected by food perks or the survival skill. It’s very odd. Also most of the heal these items say they give is actually just a flat, none stacking with self health boost with even the actual time it heals you for being shorter than it says because the time it gives you is actually the time the health boost lasts. The healing if I remember correctly only lasts for 5-7 seconds per use with the health boost lasting 30 seconds per use. The wiki would have the actual numbers and interactions so perhaps someone else can correct me with the actual information.

I have done an NCR ranger run, but of course that was demonetized and age restricted. If I do a desert ranger, it'll probably be as the Survivalist, but maybe that's what you meant!

2:24 Iirc radaway and stimpacks aren't consider chems, although you can get addicted to radaway.
Sometimes I take challenges and make them harder. I wanted to see how bad it would be not being able to use radiation consumables while utilizing rad child for future reference. By doing so, I can learn interesting impacts and effects that I can use in future runs.
You were close though! They don't count as chems, but radaway isn't addictive. You may be thinking of the Free Radical perk you get after taking 20 of them! 🥰

I don't trust New Vegas' naming system. Healing powder is a chem and the Legion supposedly don't use chems. Antivenom is a consumable, but it isn't a chem. Some things make sense, others don't, so I'm careful regardless. But thank you for your comment regardless!

@@directionalowl he doesn't use it unless you use the buddy command thing and tell him to switch to melee. usually he just sticks to shooting otherwise.

Joshua's Pistol Whippin' .45? I mentioned in another comment that I wanted a pistol build, not a melee build. Joshua only uses ranged weapons unless prompted to swap to melee, something that can't be done during the final battle anyways!
