I was a butcher for 6 years so i can tell you Ollie that the cut off point for lamb to become mutton is usually around a year and a half in the UK :)

When tasting, Josh closes his eyes, sits back in the chair, and tries to identify what he is tasting. Ollie rocks back and forth in the chair while his eyes pop out of his head which is twisting and turning. Since he does this with almost everything he tastes, you never know if he likes it or not until he speaks. I love these guys!
I love Ollie’s honest reactions. Josh tends to play to the camera and claim that everything he is eating in the moment is the best he’s ever had

If Ollie is anything like me, the fact that his mouth is stuffed with almost more than it can hold is just completely overwhelming so he doesn't really process the food until it goes down

I tried caviar once at a wedding,I was not impressed it was just little balls of rancid salt water. Some of the “posh” foods people rave about I really don’t get lol (I have tried tho I promise 😂) I’m defo more on ollies level here
@@littlemy1773 Lobster, oysters, and roe (caviar) were all once considered "poor man's food." They were cheap and plentiful for villagers living along the sea. After railroads came about and ice houses could keep them refrigerated, it suddenly became fashionable for inland residents to import seafood that they never had fresh access to before. The natural supply rate of those food sources couldn't keep up with the increased demand and those foods became more scarce increasing their price.

The wagyu carpaccio scone with truffle and caviar wouldn't be too hard to replicate, but increasing the portion size would cost a fortune. The only cheap part of that is the scone 😆

What I like about Jolly is, the honesty and blunt words that sometimes came out from Ollie mouth. It seems like a genuine reaction. Meanwhile Josh is more like a people pleaser, trying to be courteous and not offensive.

I truly believe the universe chooses a select few to enjoy oysters and you can assume that if you haven't tried one by a certain age you're not one of the select few because every person I've ever seen trying an oyster for the first time hates it 😂
I've tried and loved every kind of seafood there is, but I'm with Ollie on this one. The flavor+texture are just repellent to me.
I was actually surprised when they ate it raw. In my village,freshwater oyesters are called ,sitwa and we boil them like snails and garnish with spices to eat.
Watching you guys is amusing. It gives me picture of how everyone elses will react to Michelin star dishes in a fine dining restaurant. Surprises after suprises and they keeps coming.

This is so random but I met Julian (the French guy showing the distillery) in Glasgow! We were both waiting in-line to do the Day 2 PCR test. Morbid curiosity (and a haunting sense of frugality) drove me to look up the restaurant's website to find out the cost of each dish. Turns out they don't charge per dish, but per person for the experience. For dinner it's £110 ($145USD) per person.

@@hardywoodaway9912 I agree! I thought it'd be more than that. I guess given how little food you get, since it's super high end style restaurant, it might be considered expensive. But I was surprised at the price. That's the price one pays per person for a reasonably high end steak place like Ruth's Chris or Signature (yes, yes, but I'm not a millionaire! 🤣 hence reasonably!) if you order a shared appetizer and then a glass of wine, starter (like a soup or salad), steak, side, and dessert per person. Granted you get more food 😆 🥗🥩🍮, but the price is still there.
