When I was much younger I worked in M&S's food offices. I know what goes into the food & drink. They have always had a philosophy that they would make the best they could then work out what they could sell it for while everyone else was looking to make something then could sell for instance at £2 or £3. It does mean some of there stuff does not work, its too expensive. But every season they release new items & you can bet the following year many others have a copy of it. If I am looking for a beer that's not a big brand, I know I can walk into M&S & find no duds. It will all be good. It makes picking easy if you have the money.

I agree about Lidl and Aldi meat, I thought I was on my own with this. I still shop at Lidl as I feel most stuff is quite good. I have been drinking Belgium cherry beer for over thirty years on and off. Often in France or Belgium on a hot day when it really hits the spot. I haven’t tried the M&S brew but if all you can taste is cherry I probably won’t. Lindemans Kriek is probably my favourite, it is cherry but as an underlying beer taste and in no way would be considered pop. La Chouffe Cherry Belgian Fruit Beer is an 8.0% ABV beer and also good, very easy have one too many. Cheers 🍻

A regular on my Ocado order, I like this beer, a bit on the sweet side to do 5 or 6 in one go.
As for meat, I've gone back to the local butchers - much happier.

They must be having a laugh. 3.5 ABV ...330 ml. For £3. Not just ordinary cherry flavour.its M & S cherry flavour.. They have the audacity to put their name on it. Leave on the low low shelf . It's a 69p. Bottle of Crap best suited for B & M or Home Bargains dump bins.
